Hi Guys,

I picked up a dropped, mistreated 05 R1 and have been rebuilding it over the last couple months. It's coming along really well.. can't wait to ride it come spring!

From what I can tell there should be two leads that connect to the negative terminal of the battery. The main lead, and then a smaller ring terminal. I've looked at the wiring diagram and read through both the service and owners manual and can't find out what the smaller wire is for. I've looked in the immediate wire bundles to see if I could find a wire that has been cut off, but no luck. If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated!

The second ground wire is located and mounted at the other end of the main ground wire, attached to the engine block.

Nevermind.. I didn't read your reply properly. My bad. So it's just a redundant ground? Running the exact same path as the primary?
