I live in Texas and it gets really warm here in the summer. Please recommend a good summer jacket and the best place to purchase. I don't see how leathers can be cool in the summer especially when it's 100 degrees.

i forget the model, but i have a alpine star mesh jacket, great for warm/hot weather, armour'd shoulders, elbow/forearm, and foam back protection, which is all interchangeable, comes with a wind resistant liner, which i rarely.. cost $500 AUD.. probaly around $250-$300 US

Kushitani Victory Race Perforated, basically the top half of the Race 1pc suit :rock

Prior to Kushitani I was a die hard Dainese wearer, but have now been converted. The Kushitani fits much better, alot more supple leather, and holds up very well in crashes. My race survived a violent high side onto the pavement over a cager without any visible damage :thumbup

The difference between the Dainese & Kushitani is amazing :yesnod

I purchased both of my Kushitani's from KneeDraggers online, I highly recomend them, great service, pricing & staff :thumbup

I've got nothing... I normally don't even wear a shirt, let alone a jacket. Helmets are for people that are going to crash. :fact

.... and I am just playing around, I always wear gear. I have been riding with a cheap jacket though... probably time to upgrade.

I've been using the Fieldsheer Titanium mesh jacket since 2002
and it's been very comfortable and cool. Comes with C.E. approved armour. I paid $89.00 for it then. It's cooler than my
perforated leather jacket, but keep in mind it does not replace
the protection of leather. Yes, I know what you mean about the
hot weather. It should hit 90 here in a few weeks.

joe pocket ( i mean rocket) Phoenix user in the house, I just upgraded to the blaster proforated leather jacket this year, but just planing the leather in the nippy mornings or late night summer drive.

Let me know when you upgrade, I'm in the market for a cheap jacket to get me through the MSF course this summer.

just do what the "cool" guys on the f4is do. wear a wifebeater, shorts, sandals, and instead of a helmet use sunglasses and a visor turned backwards and upside down. they look cool. haha

I have had a Fieldsheer Sonic Air jacket for 2 years now, and it works great. Lots more leather than most mesh jackets and has a liner for cool mornings. Check with Motoliberty and see if they still have them.
