02-03 r1 rrror code 42?

Bike is an 03 R6...........fault on the display is 42..........diagnostic code is 21.Which means its the neutral switch or something...weird thing is the neutral light works on the display cluster but doesn't pick it up on when in diag mode ie 21 ON/OFF it just says its ON all the time. When I undo the harness where all the switches(side stand,clutch,neutral ect) lead to under the seat the diag mode says it is off. It doesn't affect the bike but pisses me off cause the engine man light is on and I can't get rid of it.


Neutral switch is functional.

If its actual, dis-connect the negative lead from the battery and hold it to the positive for 30 seconds (still connected)To dis-charge the ECU completely.( NO IT WILL NOT SPARK, trust me) This will completely dis-charge the ECU unit and will need to relearn itself. If it re appears, guess what?? The side stand switch is bad. You can loop this at the end, but thats a good feature you want to keep.
