04 Coolant Reservoir Not Filling Back up?

Anyone here had any problems with the coolant reservoir not filling back up properly? I had the radiator flushed last night and filled her backup with Yamacool. I ran the engine with the cap off until it started to boil out of the radiator until internal temp reached about 180 degrees. Let it cool down again and filled the radiator back up again and capped it. Then took it our for a short test ride and came back and shut her down for the night. I went out this morning after she was completely cold, and filled the radiator up one last time and capped it and still, to this point, the reservoir has absolutely no coolant in it. Before I flushed the system, it was just above the "low" level line, and now it's empty and won't fill up again. I know the coolant is set to expand once the engine is running, but even after I ran her for little while, it didn't seem that the coolant was getting into the reservoir. Any ideas what might be the problem or is this perfectly fine to run on for now? Thanks!

As long as you have the proper level of coolant in the radiator, I wouldn't worry about it. I flushed and refilled my radiator a while ago. Like you, I topped off the radiator after a few rides, etc.

I've put about 900 miles on the bike and there's nothing in the over flow. As mentioned above, it's a catch can basically and not much more. If no coolant over flows from the radiator, then it's going to stay dry.

As far as I know, it does not provide any function beyond keeping coolant from going everywhere and getting on the tire, etc. Myself, I personally would rather have it empty (thus more volume to catch coolant should something go wrong), rather than have it full and end up with coolant getting under my rear tire should the overflow "overflow"

:)
