Nice bro.... I was really hoping that Targa was going to make a seat cowl like the factory Zx6r and the factory Gsxr 1000 cowls. I wonder if anyones going to make it like that.

 

it looks kind of plain. there is no detail to it. it's just a plain shaped cowl. i don't like the factory one because of the huge foam pad either, but at least it has some styling to it. maybe a profile view from the side will make it look better. i was hoping targa would come out with one with no pad but some styling to it. the 04 has some very nice geometry to it, but that cowl just doesn't seem to fit. i don't know. :dunno

 

Man that looks pretty clean! Do they still weigh a ton? I had one for my R6 and the damn thing was heavy.

Looks good. But how is the fit and the color match....The pics from the side look like the color is a bit off and the fit too....It may be the pics though...

I had a targa seat cowl on my '00 and i was riding one day and the screws must have started to back out without my knowing. Well i go to pass a car and bam, it goes about 80 feet into the air. Needless to say that was the last of that cowl. I would hope the qaulity of these would be a little better than the one i owned. But it does look nice!

Why can't someone manufacture a seat cowl out of ABS plastic and paint it factory colors. I bought the Targa b/c I don't like the pad that the OEM has but $183 is alot of $$$. A plastic seat cowl similiar to the Suzuki GSXR lineup would be easy to manufacture and much cheaper.

 

I like my oem one better, I do wish it was designed slightly better but I like it way more than the Targa. The Targa looks plain and cheap.

I think the targa looks better than OEM but I too wish someone would make a plastic one like the 636 or '03+ GIXXER 1000 for our R1. HINT HINT HINT

 

Hey guys thanks for the compliments. It does look a little plain with out the black foam back pad, If you put that on it it helps get rid of that "plain look. The fit and quality seems to be fine. It's weight is about the same as the stock seat. maybe a fraction more. The paint matches fine. The pictures I submitted were from last night, the flash might fave contributed to the panit looking off. I will post some more per the request on the thread.

The wheels look sweet on the silver! I have not installed the BMC yet. (YEAH it might FLOW way too much!!)ha,ha I'm waiting on the Arata pipe to come in then I will install it and get it Dyno tunned! I see you are waiting on your pipe too!

 

Targa is nice...I'd like to see Eurobikes make one...

 

OK guys first my seat! Now this! Yes this is the same cowl that was pictured in my 04 Targa seast cowl thread! Not so pretty anymore. I don't know what the hell! I check it, re-check it and then again! I'm freaking sick and tired of this! It went bye, bye at 70-80. Believe it or not it somehow survived the landing on the freeway and being run over by my buddy on his R1. At least it didn't damage his bike, or him!

Anybody recommend a place to get it repainted?
