According owner manual, weight with oil and fuel is:

425 lbs (U49)
428 lbs (Cal)

Not sure if this also includes coolant. Figure about 3.18 qts of 50/50 water/antifreeze mix, and also not sure if battery and electrolyte weight is also included or has to be added in.

 

mfr's dry weight is taken with no grease in bearings, no electrolyte in battery, no fuel, oil or brake fluid, no oil in shock or fork. That is why the figures are so low. Use the wet weights from the magazines and subtract fuel to get realistic dry weihts.

 

The mags that have actually thrown them on the scales have gotten around 450 lbs. They weigh just a little bit more than the Kawi and Zook, and about 15 to 20 lbs less than the Honda.

 

I figured this thing was heavier than some liked to believe...

CW has the Zook at 408 without fuel and the CBR at like 424 without fuel or something close to that...

 

440lbs +-1lb fully wet. The zx10r is 430lbs fully wet and the CBR is very near 462lbs fully wet.

Those weights are odd. SR has the '02 R1 as 438 and the '03 GSXR as 442.

The '04 also holds more fuel.

The scales will be different just like dyno runs but also the numbers should be consistantly different. The '04 weighs 3 lbs less but hold 1.8 lbs more of fuel. So that's still 1.2 lbs lighter this year but some how weighs more than a bike that it was 4 lbs lighter than the year before. That's the point I'm getting at.

 

04 battery is 25% lighter than last year's.
