I got mine, but I didn't buy in the tri-state area.

 

Picked mine up yesterday in NE PA:hellobye

 

I picked up mine maybe 5 weeks ago at Southern Ocean Cycle.

 

I'm in NY and I haven't received it yet. Looks like they're starting to pop up here in the tri state area. I got my fingers crossed.

 

I am down here in south GA and mine was supposed to be in early march however it wasn't and according to yesterdays talk with the dealer, It should be here within the next week. So hopefully friday i'll have her. HAHAHA and if not just more time to pic out what mods i want.

 

Finally got a call yesterday evening from Free State Cycle in Maryland.............they said they got 20 R1's in.......and about 12 are claimed.........Good Luck

has anyone in Jersey or tri-state area taken delivery of their 04 yet? They were suppose to be here last week, then today (Thurs.), but still no show. WTF? has anyone got a legitimate answer? The dealer near me delivered 1 silver and has a red sitting on the floor (but it"s sold) since early March. where are the bikes?

Thanks echo, just a quick reality check, eons ago there was a 10-14 day delay, that lasted, hell, I dunno, it's still going on, this week has turned into next week, and probably is as likely as maybe given the track record of what we've been told.

At this point I feel like a yo-yo, I call the dealer and get a small dose of hope, tempered with excitement, only to be let down yet again. So I look at it like this:

There is a strong chance that there may be a slight possibility that our 04's could arrive sometime in the very near or distant future, so i would say without a doubt that they will arrive between now and then.

There seems to be some sort of problem with the transmissions. I was told by a dealer employee that sales have been halted pending factory rep inspections. Perhaps ther is an assembly line or supplier problem leading to the failures. That is the likely reason for the delay.

Im surprised that there is no REAL ANSWER from any of those dealers, doesn't yamaha give them timeframe im sure Yamaha cares about selling their product. someone has to know something .. I don't think it was transmission problem though... I heard they were in CA this monday beeing dispatched I wanna see if it is true. Transmission problems were with kawasaki zx10 though they managed to fix it and still have them shipped on time, I don't think yamaha cares much about us anymore

Ok I called the dealer today. I asked a simple question, if there's any news on My 04 they said yea should be here in the next few weeks ... WTF : confused:

you would think that when your spending almost $12 g's
they could kinda kiss your ass or sympathize with you on the situation...

they called me and said another 2 weeks maybe ? and the guy says yamaha haven't returned his calls. Call me stupid but yamaha is moving down on my list thanks to this bullshit.......

 

it"s amazing to me how much the bike dealerships don"t know what"s going on. I knew last july that the new 1 was to have ram-air, underseat exhaust, & 175 HP(crank). When I asked the dealer he said NO WAY...........never happen. When the info. came out last fall you bet your ass I threw it in his face.
I work at a BMW Auto dealership and we are never in the dark with info. on car specs, delivery dates, new models, etc. So either the Yamaha Salesmen are feeding us BS or Yamaha really jerks them around and they in turn are jerking us
