Hey, I just bought a PC5 for my 07 r1 and I was wondering if I should tune it or just run some map. Only modifications are a TOCE slip on. (I know lol)

 

Stock maps tend to run a little lean. PCV maps tend to run pretty rich... pick your poison. A custom tune will net you the most benefits and ensure you have a steady AFR throughout the rev range. If you want to do that, though, make sure to get some smog blockoff plates.

Smog Block Off Plates Thread.

Dyno tune will put your bike on the dyno, and a custom map will be created for you over a variety of rev ranges, throttle inputs, etc. Auto tune is an add on for the PCV that will tweak a current map you have for the bike to run optimally.

 

It will correct your A/F ratio for multiple differences like temperature, humidity and altitude. So if you go up into the mountains to ride your A/F will be adjusted to run optimally.
