What are the big differences that you see over stock and what other engine related mods do you have? Thanks for your response.

 

174 stock 187 after flash and tune with pcv and an austin racing pipe

 

Are you using the austin racing map for the pcv?

 

PWR mode 3 is better for street riding and cruising. You'll find PWR mode 1&2 are snatchy trying to hold a constant speed as the maps are for track acceleration not steady speed.

 

Is power mode 3 a full power map that is more linear than stock? Power mode 3 on my bike reminds me of a 600.

 

If u look in the manual 1,2 are aggressive and 3 is softer but all give full power at wide open throttle. Pwr 4 is reduced power all over and is like a 600.

 

Thank you for opening my eyes to this. I played around with the different modes during break in and didn't change the power ratings, thinking there wasn't much difference and confused pwr 4 for 3. I went out today in Mode A and changed the PWR mode to 3. Wow, what a difference. You can actually take off smoothly and roll off and on smoothly and PWR 2 is a big improvement over 1. No need for a reflash if your only concern is the snatchy throttle.

 

I have the Graves cat eliminator map (from FTECU.com) on my completely stock 2015 R1. It's vastly improved the throttle response and the power is very linear throughout the low RPMs. The bike feels like a literbike now!

Something interesting as well: my freeway mileage remained the same from the stock flash to using the Graves flash. I was surprised to see this, since when I tried the FTECU "unrestricted" flash, my mileage dropped by about 20%.

FTECU & Graves were great to work with as well - excellent customer service.

 

Thanks for all the info. Interesting that the fuel mileage was the same. It seems odd that they would say that the throttle response is set up for the track. After my initial turn in on the track , I like to open the throttle to maintain speed and then roll on the throttle after the apex of the corner. The abrupt on and off feel of the throttle runs me a little wide at times. It's not terrible on the track but definitely could be improved.

Probably because tuning is ALWAYS better than someone else's map. Each bike is different :fact
