Hey guys my friend has a 2001 R1 and he replaced his clutch about 200-300 miles ago. Anyways the clutch slips when its cold but after you let it warm up it doesn't slip. Also when cold and the bike is in neutral, going to first gear the bike stalls until warmed up. Anyone know what could be up? Im pretty sure the guy who installed the clutch knew what he was doing, and it was at a yamaha dealership. Any advice would be appreciated.

well slipping when cold is common with the stock setup.

Best thing is to spend $130ish and get the Barnett coil spring conversion for it. It's worth it's weight in gold and is a must have mod for those bikes if they are riddenly agressivly.

Were both the friction and steel plates replaced? If just the friction plates were replaced you may have a warped steel plate or two. That should have been checked upon install.

For sure the Barnett clutch kit, it's worth it's weight in gold.
