2008 R1 4c8 streetfighter tips wanted

Hi just as the title says really im wondering if anyone has streetfightered a 2008 R1?

I recently bought one that has slight fairing damage and a broken headlight which I originally planned on repairing back to how it should be but im now having second thoughts.

Just wondering if there is anything to watch out for on the front end when I remove headlight and fairing and tidy up the wiring? Is there any sensors etc.. I did it to a 99 zx6r about 5 years ago but obvouisly that wasn't as high tec as this bike.

No doubt 04 to 08 R1's are my favorite body styles of all sport bikes (makes and models) ever manufactured.

a few weeks ago, i bought a 08 r1, and also evaluate do that. i decidied to rebuild it again, with "her" fairings and a new paint job.
IMO the 2004-2008 r1 is way to beautiful to make it "street fighter"

Chinese fairings are a few hundred bucks. Way cheaper and better overall result than hacking it up.

"Streetfighter" bikes just scream, "I'm an idiot and crashed my bike" in my opinion.

Then you obviously haven’t seen or ridden a proper one then. I’d put my street fighter (which has never been crashed) against yours any day of the week.

A nice looking SF is always col. And when i say nice, i mean clean! Like the front from Fz1N for example, a good line job to cover them smartly, some scoops job, a low set handlebar of just leave the clipons as is.
Thing is, to make an SF that both looks good and functional, it takes both mony and time. Hope yougo that way.

Bring it back to it's original look, it will probably be cheaper to do and look way better.

Like most I'd say return it to stock plastics but hey it's your bike so it only has to put a smile on your face. Do what you want with it! To answer your original question, yes, there is an air temperature sensor in the left ram tube that you'll have to relocate.

I had fun with a 2004 ZX6R 636, you can spend a lot (or too much) time and money.

That a pretty cool looking S/F without having to sink a bunch or money into it. It does look like it would be a blast to ride, must be very light.
