I am looking for new controls, rear sets and other miscellaneous products for my 2012 R1 and have narrow down between Rizoma and LighTech.. I was wondering what everyone thinks about these two brands and if they have any experience with any of there products? Looking for as much knowleadge out there about them both before I start spending the Benjamins!!! :riding

for what in particular?

Rearsets I wouldn't use either. Vortex is the best bang for the buck, Attack is really good, then take your pick of Giles, Graves, sato, etc

Rear adjusters Lightech are really good. Giles are also good and would be my next choice

Reservoirs Rizoma are nice

levers go with ASV

"Controls" (lights, signals, etc) you are basically limited to STM as I couldn't find any other brands on the market

That sounds like a nice blend of brands lol.. Ihave looked at most all of those, but i don't want to mix and match to many brands on my bike..

#4 ·
Maybe your rizoma products are coming from china as a knockoff :sing:

Like what z064 asked, what for? Track or street? For track I'd recommend not spending that much on rear sets and everything because if you go down and they get dented, scratched, demolished, you're going to cry.

I love Rizoma though..... so sexy.

This bike is for street no to very little track use out of this one.. Rizoma do seem to have a better eye candy appeal

Rizoma grips and accessories are great for the street...

Love their reservoirs and other accessories, but for track you may want different preferences :dunno

OP, don't be afraid to mix and match vendors in a tasteful manner.

I was able to count 17 different vendors in this one pic... :dunno

Your bike looks good!! What gauge cluster is that? when i do mix match vendors it would be in a tasteful manner.. :thumbup

#16 ·
I do notice that LighTech isn't getting and love?? What does everyone know I don't?? lol :dundun:

they are looking fine for sure, but if i would go and pay the popper, i would get the SATOs.

I know Rizoma is plentiful but be a trend setter go for the light tech stuff. Those rear sets make me have naughty dreams... everyone has Rizoma... j/k either is good stuff.. but I like the uniqueness factor of having something a little less main stream... I have a few light tech bits and I do like them...

#25 ·
I like the LightTech a bit for the fact I have not seen any on a bike anywhere here in Los Angeles so the cool factor would be cool and the rise of intrest for someone to want to steel my bike lol jk :boom the pricing is almost the same with the two brands and OPP does have a lot of there products for a pretty reasonable price.. I am still up in the air about which stuff to go with because I like the look of both :shake lol

The longer you wait to decide, the longer you must wait for shipping... :sing:

:lol

Go with what your heart is telling you. Don't listen to these shallow dogs :crash

But if you order Lightech (the only US distro doesn't carry spare parts), you might as well order spare parts now so they will be available by the time you need them :lol

#27 ·
Wise word Master Sensei :bow lol.. If I do I with the LighTech I will order spare parts just in case.. The LighTech like I said before is very appealing for the rareness of seeing it on any bikes, but Rizoma does have a lot of products LighTech doesn't make, but then again that is a good example I think of having multiple brands on my bike :thumbup

I have had LighTech as well as Rizoma rearsets on previous bikes and both are top notch from a quality, fit and finish point of view. In my opinion, both would be a clear step above some of the other brands mentioned. Present in the MotoGP as well as WSB paddock, too.

Go with the ones you like the best.

I have LighTech Rearsets on my '08 and love them. I did have a lowside a couple of years ago and I was able to get replacement parts quickly and easily from OPP Racing dot com.
The Rizoma's look hot too. So I don't think you can go wrong either way. Pjsparts dot com carries both and has the best price I've seen around on each.
Good luck.

I use rizoma stuff and the quality is outstanding. You get what you pay for in all honesty. I'm sure most here will tell you that. I have the LT chain adjusters which I absolutely love. Color matching that with rizoma stuff doesn't work unless you stick to the basic color like black or stainless. All in all, quality is what you're willing to pull out of your wallet. Both rizoma an LT pieces are quality products. You can't go wrong either Way.

Here are my ASV C5 series unbreakable.... (can't go wrong with lifetime warranty)

And here are my Attack Performance rearsets that I recently put on last weekend.... (Not to mention waiting 5 weeks for them:shake)

I do like the ASV a lot and they do offer a kick ass warranty!! Why in the world did your rear sets take 5 weeks??

I Broke the bank this weekend and got me a Rizoma and LighTech part!!! :epimp I got the LighTech Modular bar ends with gold rings and a silver Rizoma oil filler cap :sneaky ..I know awesome right!? I went all out for my first buy of these brands products haha, but I figure I start somewhere with the two of them. Plus I think this is a good start of mixing brands :boobies

Rizoma rearsets are expensive but not as expensive as LighTech limited edition rear sets. There's only a handful of those that I originally posted so if you want to be different then trust me it'll separate you from most of us of the back speaking of rearset looks.

#39 ·
The best price I have found on the Le LighTech rear sets is $978.95.. You of anyone else seen those for a better price? :dollar

#40 ·
Man I've seen it at $780.00 but that was on a european website with a closeout. Dude I highly doubt I can find that link again. I was on the 12th page of google searches. So I settled with my Graves rear sets and stopped looking.

#42 ·
That's like finding a needle in a hay finding that site again.. I've been looking around, but all the distributes here for LighTech have a hefty price on some of there items i have noticed

#43 ·
Yup I wouldn't doubt it bro. It's so pretty though. You might as well possibly be the first to have these limited rearsets on the forums...don't quote me on that though I'm not for sure.
