Oh, yea well F** him!! on the other side he's right the fan participation sucks for motorcycle racing... When I went to the Daytona 200 there were 3x's the amout of people there for a motorcross race than the motorcycle's..

Since you brought it up - I am frickin' sick of all the NASCAR on Speed Channel. Damn... You're lucky if ya catch any motorcycle racing on TV... And apparently only the Europeans can turn a race car to both the left and the right.

Hold up.. :beer Okay. I feel better now.

The problem is next year we will be lucky to see any motorcycle races on SPEED. I read on their site awhile back that they are taking on almost all the NASCAR races for next year. Personally I love F1 but I do not get into NASCAR, but cannot knock someone for liking it. SPEED needs to get it together or we may be ordering our races off pay per view soon.

Oh adn F*#k Dave Despain, that guy gets on my nerves as much as Greg White Flirting with his lover Zemke.

He is just doing his job. Why should he have to absorb all the hate there is for too much NASCAR and not enough motorcycles.
Because thats his Job!

Besides he sold out to the left hand races

:lol

He is right though... The # of nascar fans in this country drawf the # of motorcycle fans. What pisses me off is you can see Nascar on a bagillion channels, while you can only see motorcycle racing on 1...

Firing off letter to Dave Despain and blaming him for the relative lack of motorcycle coverage on Speed is shooting the messenger. It is not his fault. He has little or no control of programing on that network.

NASCAR makes money. Because lots of people like it, watch it, go to races, and buy merchandise. Speed plays a lot of NASCAR related programing because it makes them money. End of story.

Motorcycle programing has cost them money in the past. Cause not enough of us bother to watch it. For one thing there aren't enough of us. And those who are interested are only interested in their own style of riding -- and can't be bothered to watch the rest.

Soon we'll be lucky to have any motorcycle programing at all. Ironic, considering that motorcycle ownership is at all time highes these days.

What makes the world go round? $$$$MONEY$$$$

Speed channel makes much cash off of airing NASCAR so they put it on TV. They probably make minimal cash or even loose money for airing Motorcycle racing. Small audience and lots of us probably dont tune in every time to watch either when it is on.

SO here is my question to you. If you were CEO of Speed TV, what would you do? Satisfy a small amount of fans, loose ratings, look bad in front of your advertisers, and eventually loose money? Or would you cut motorcycle time, put NASCAR on there, boost ratings, get more fan coverage and advertisers, and put more cash in your company and pocket?

The choice is simple, and they have made it. I would do the same.

NASCAR sucks. Seriously, how much talent does it take to drive fast and turn left? I love how they call them "stock cars" and try to claim that "it's the same Chevy that you can buy at the dealership." Really? The similarity is superficial. It's just a plastic cover with painted headlights and some stickers. Hmmm, kinda like a toy RC car . . . the one that only goes forward and turns left.
