Arai helmet chin stripping came off?

I have an Arai Quantum f helmet, about 5 years old, and on a recent ride, the weather stripping around the front lower chin part, came off. What is the best way to re-attach it again? I tried some super glue, but it didn't seem to work very well. It didn't seal tightly, and the air worked it's way through it, and it came off again. I have to say, I'm not very happy, considering it's an Arai helmet. Thanks for any suggestions!

I just bought my rx7 rr4 and the lower stripping by the chin curtain is coming off!!!

That's not supposed to happen for a $500 helmet :jump
I agree, it's BS! Where's the quality? My friend was teasing me saying his cheap HJC helmet isn't doing that. I sent a note to Arai customer support. I'll be interested to see what they say back. Unfortunately, my warranty has expired. My ability to change shields has also gotten harder and harder. The little plastic clip or whatever, broke. Now I have to pry those ear things up a little bit to switch them. Just some small complaints, but for a helmet of this brand, and this price, it's dissappointing.

I don't complain here much, BUT I have had nothing but trouble with my Arai.

1. When changing my shield, the side cover broke off, rendering the helmet useless. Now you can blame me for being far to powerful, but I never had this issue with my Shoei's.

2. Side cover cracked again, helmet rendered useless. I don't know how it cracked this time, probably my fault. Never had this happen with Shoei.

3. Last Saturday when pulling up my shield, the little plastic tab snapped off, now the shield won't snap shut.

4. Can't buy on-line.

5. Parts are hard to come buy on-line or otherwise.

6. Noisier than my last Shoei.

Now I know I've offended Arai lovers out there, but I only offer the truth. Arai just hasn't worked out for me, I'll be going back to Shoei. I know all Arai helmets aren't crap or they wouldn't sell so many. Besides, my chin molding hasn't fallen off yet!

Oh, I have a RX-7RR4 a little over two years old.

Get some silicone sealant such as Permatex. They make it in various formulas. This should take care of the problem. If it's five years old then you should think about updating to a new one. At least I would.

I've owned dozens or arai's and never had a side panel break. I personally think that if you break it, you're not removing the shield correctly.

i have had the front weatherstripping come off, however it was caused by a buddy using it to drag race his corvette, and the seat belt kept rubbing it. he also broke the top vent.

as to getting parts. You're not trying very hard. Cause you can call the number on the website and order anything except a helmet from them.
www.araiamericas.com
also any dealer that orders parts from Tucker Rocky can order any part directly from their catalog.

the only parts i've ever ordered were a new top vet, and a replacement side shield for RX7-Corsair that got beat up by my tearoffs.

good info...thanks man!

I'll probably just use silicone or something...since I ride to work everyday.

It's my only lid.

Ive also had that lower black strip come off on my Arai Doohan RX7 aswell(had it for 4 years now). First time I noticed it was when trying to pull the wind deflector thing at the bottom down:no

I just use some hobby glue and holds it there fine:yesnod
