Sorry this a "re-do", but I can't find the thread on brake caliper maintenance. I want to replace the seals and do as much as I can to make them work as well as possible-is all there is to it replacing these seals?:
I've seen a titanium rebuild kit somewhere...any benefit in this?

Hey Frank. Did you end up doing this? Curious on how things went? Did you end up getting those braketech stainless pistons?

I'm starting to notice a little brake drag, so I will be taking my calipers completely apart soon, and giving them a good clean and replacing the seals.

When you take the pistons out, feel around the sides to see if you get any abrasive surface. If you do; that’s going to trap dirt and the pot needs to be replaced. It’ll hold dirt, wear out the seal, and drag. You want them smooth as butter on the sides.

hey brother-sorry for the late reply-
We closed on the new house in Colorado Springs on the 10th and I've been moving in/unpacking while working so it's been slow-going. The new place has a 3 "Car" garage, so my two bikes and tools etc will have a nice space to themselves. I'm almost there with the set-up, and will tear down the bike once it's done. I'd love to take care of the brakes this off-season and will take you up on your way-cool offer (y) Will you take some pics/video while you do it so I can learn? I also will change out the fork springs (standard 9.5's in there now). I've serviced the KYB forks on Yamahas and still have the tools....can't imagine the Ohlins will be much different.

are there any good DIY vids on this? I'd love to do it, but sketched out always messing around with my brakes. Most the guys I ride with haven't done this either so I can't learn from them either. Seems to be one of those servicing that isn't as common as the fluid changes.
