I prefer performance over aesthetics. I would use the money you spend on chroming to buy new dampers for my bikes.

IMO chrome only looks good as wheels on a totally blacked out monochramatic vehicle

My company built a building for the california central valley's premier motorcycle chroming facility, they're doing my wheels for $300.00. We also built a building for a local motorcycle shop and he's R&Ring the tires, bearings and seals for free! 300.00 for the pair of chrome wheels, not to bad huh??

I like a bit of chrome on old pan heads but still prefer the pitted castings...

chrome on sportbikes looks hideous :ugh 2 me
while carbon fiber, magnesium, & titanium in the raw is at home

 

I got a bike to ride, not to look cool, so no, not a chrome fan. Not to say a little here and there is bad, I just don't care for a LOT of chrome.

 

To each his own but chrome looks bad ass on a all black bike. All I ever hear on this forum is about performance. Why cant we have both?? :rock

My philosophy is that if you have a machine capable of 180+mph, you don't really need (and actually probably don't want) to draw any more attention to yourself then is absolutely necessary.

while im not a personal fan of chrome, chroming the wheels isn't all that bad in my opinion... it's when people go nuts over it and chrome the hell out of everything... same thing with carbon fiber... personally i think carbon fiber looks ugly as hell close up... only looks good at a distance... looks "fuzzy" up close, which I think takes away from the smoothness of a vehicle

chrome doesnt look bad, just not too much of it, then it starts to look tacky. I can tell u this though, depending on what you get dip its hell to maintain. that all chrome R1 above is just nasty, no taste in it at all

Chrome is meant for muscle cars and cruisers

It's about function before form, and chrome is not about function...

Just my humble take on chrome...

 

why chrome? why not polish then have it laquered, no extra weight etc just imo

 

i like chrome on wheels only, it just adds some bling but not to much. not every person is a hardcore racer. i like to have something i can have fun on and that looks sexy at the same time, something where i can have fun putting money into. call me a poser but to each its own.

 

I recently saw a few bikes done in color chrome, black chrome and those look very tasty.
