So I got the bright idea to clean my helmet, and put rain-x on the visor since I got caught in a storm the other day and couldn't see shiot. Well I was feeling rather lazy and wanted to sit down so I opened my tailgate and sat on it. Got done with the helmet and I must have left it there. DOH!!!
I remember taking a drive and getting to a destination and seeing the open tailgate with a piece of wood hanging off the edge ready to fall out and thinking, man I am glad I didnt have anything valuable back there. Yea right. I can't find it anywhere and this is the only explanation I can come up with.
DAMNIT!!! GRRRR!!

Don't feel too bad, one of my riding buddies lost ALL of his dirt riding gear this way.
Check this out, I had a dirt helmet fall out of my truck on the highway doing 80mph. I found it and It wasn't in too bad of shape ( no cracks etc.). Pretty funny watching it hop around the road behind me. I lost the same helmet for good heading to the the track a few months later:dunno

I keep my new helmet in the cab now:crash

Haha. Glad I'm not the only one to have something like that happen.

Long story short: I had my spare RX-7RR in a backpack and was doing around 80mph on the highway. Let's just say you shouldn't have the zippers at the top. I knew what happened when I felt the backpack get real light, so I took off. No going back for a helmet that's bounced down the highway. Lesson learned.

I know the feeling. I had an extra helmet under one of those cargo nets on the passenger seat, got home and realized it wasnt there anymore.. :2bitchsla It wasn't a long trip, but too many woods.. never found it.:iamwithst

LMAO that sucks dude.

I have lost a wallet that way, and even ran over my buddies cbr because I was in a panic and forgot it was in front of my truck.(It's a big truck, you cant see a bike parked in front of it)

Well I have a history of doing this. The worst one was when I was delivering pizza, and I had the "wifey don't know stash" in one of my pockets because I was going to be purchasing something after work. I get to a house and while standing next to the bed I realize I can't find my pizza money to give the customer change, so I empty out all my pockets into the bed of the truck, find the pizza dough in the truck and give him the change and drive off.
The stash was about $1500 cash and I drove about 5 miles at 55mph, I stop at a gas station to fill up and thats when it hits me. Oh GOD! I look in the bed and there is one $5 bill in there. I hauled ass back there and started retracing my steps. It was about 30 degrees, I had to put another t shirt I had around my head like a ninja and I am on the side of the highway walking around in the weeds with 2 flashlights looking for money. I see a $100 blow by me and chase it down.... then another, then a few $50's etc.
The police stopped by to see what kinda loon is walking with flashlights on the side of the highway with a ninja hood on LOL.
I told him what happened and he was sympathetic. I wound up finding about half the money so it wasn't a total loss but man, you would think I would learn to stay the hell away from the bed of my truck with anything valuable!
