anyone have these rearset? looks nice but are as strong as the sato's
can't decide on which one I want. I know sato replacement parts are easy to get but not to sure with gilles as I never have them.

I have them on my 07. I also laid down the bike on the right side, and so far cannot replace broken parts without either going to Europe or buying a brand new rearset ..... as much as I love my Gilles, go with the Sato, if you ever break any parts, you can get them from Sato.

Ray, I had this problem last year. Tucker Rocky completely ignored me. I emailed Gilles and they sent me the replacement parts (just a shift lever and knob) for FREE. Thanks Christian!

thanks Ray
I do alot of trackdays so getting parts fast is a big deal for me. On my old bike which was an 04 R1. Had Sato's and can get parts in less then a week when I went down.
wanted to try something new which was why I was looking at the gilles.

what parts did you break on the gilles?

btw: is the shift/brake toe peg plastic? Had half of my sato scrape off after doing some trackdays but they are easy to find and replace.

Woodcraft and Vortex the easiest to get parts for but I have heard from others getting parts for the Gilles is a pain in the ass.

i can get those gilles for the 07-08 brand new for about 460 shipped and chains adj for about 160 shipped.

just about. if anyone is interested let me know. i can get exhaust cheap but it might take a lil bit.
for example the akra evo2 short can TI with carbon tip FULL SYSTEM for 1850 shipped.

everything for the yamaha R1 07-08

OPP is now a good call! Thanks for the update, when I broke mine they did not have. I am ordering this week.

Feel off on the Highway. I was trying to downshift and nothing was there, really weird feeling. Maybe I will try to find some sato pegs, they are easier to find. Thanks.

thanks to OPP Gilles parts are fast and easy to get for now which was why I ended up getting spare parts sense you never know whats going to happen. Even when I had Sato on my old bike. it ended up taking a week to get the parts in after going down at the track.

Not bad. Is it better to call on monday (as they say it is faster) or just order from the website?

My brake lever peg fell off on mine. I ended up having to take off both rearsets and used blue loc-tite on everthing. I also had a problem with the mount bolts coming loose so I did the same with them.

I put loc tite on all the mounting bolts. I did not think to put them on the pegs, I will do it now when I put the new one on.

Called them and will have a new one Friday. Good place, I wish there was someplace local to me like that.

email gilles directly if the impoter doesn't have the parts. make it attention to Christian Mosbach and he'll take care of you. He has gotten a lot of our customers parts on the house or for damn cheap and shipped over very quickly. They realize the hardship with overseas parts and he'll take care of you.

For the rearsets with easy replacement parts it's vortex hands down.
