w/e will save the head the best and is to your liking on the outside... i prefer the icon domain main frame black red and white... just please for the sake of looks DO NOT get the helmet with the stupid horns on it... or the power puff girl looking... unless that is your thing

yes u are.

get the shoei x11. its super light, aerodynamic, and pretty cheap right now.

out of my collection: OGK ff5, CF bell star, x12, vemar CF eclips, and scorpionexo700,

i would take the x11 over any of those any day.

(to the OP) Try the Shark RSR2 as well. That's supposed to be a great one. I have an X11 and X12, both great. I prefer the 12 to the 11, but only due to a couple things. 11 actually has a couple pluses of its own (such as a lighter weight).

my friends got one. i wore it...and i must say, i have a new profound respect for rossi...

he can still win motoGP with a helmet that has a visor system the size of baby's penises... it's like half that size of my x12's visor (horizontally)

If your budget is tight then Icon Mainframe is a great helmet. I have it and I've "field tested" one and it held up great. I also "field tested" a KBC and it worked just fine. If i could afford it though I would go with the Shoei or Arai.

:boobies

I love Arai helmets, all I've ever worn. I have a Vector now and my wife wears a Qauntum. I'd try a Corsair if I could afford a new one. I say get what fits beause you'll wear it everytime... and that's what's MOST IMPORTANT!!
:fact

Head shape has alot to do with it...... Arai's and Suomy fit my head great, I have tried 2 different Shoei models and they both were tight in the temple area and gave me a headache. :dunno

I've got a big round dome. Helmets I've tried (besides the plethora of cheap $50 helmets I've had on) are: Icon Mainframe, Shoei TZ-R, HJC FS-15 Carbon.

The Icon Mainframe was the most uncomfy of the three. When I had weird crosswinds over bridges and whatnot, my head would start shaking from buffeting. It wasn't that quiet and the weight balance felt weird (after trying the next two).

The Shoei and HJC are close ties as the Shoei was pretty quiet, but the HJC is cheaper and is uber light. The Shoei is a Shoei and I bought it without worries as even though it's the bottom of their lineup, Shoei's not gonna make a crap helmet. I did try an X-11 and that thing was everthing my TZ-R was, but with better weight distribution and felt a bit lighter.

I was wary of the HJC at first since it's... well, it's an HJC and they're known for making cheap and questionable helmets. You can pretty much trust everything that webbikeworld has to say about the FS-15.

All three are DOT/Snell approved. I did most of my research on webbikeworld and my criteria from top to bottom was: DOT/Snell approval, Price, Weight, Design.

I have the OGK FF5 and used it at Chuckwalla this wknd. Seemed I was fighting with it, really putting a strain on the back of my neck to the point of alot of pain. This could be attributed to my body positioning. I couldn't get into a good position in turns and keep my head up looking through. I borrowed my mates Scorpion EXO, made a world of difference. I was able to get into my position, head up looking through the turn. End story, find what works best for you.

Picked up a Scorpion EXO700 last in April for $108 shipped. Very nice for the money with many of the features of the high dollar helmets.
