Whats up everyone? Been awhile since ive been on the forum, but really could use some help or advice, anything, im loosn it! :fire Ill start from the begining please bare with me. About 2mnths ago i found a 600rr on craigs list.( I know i miss my R1s but financially i cant afford one right now) so im thinkn I found a great deal its an 03 cbr 600rr for 3200. the plastic is rough but has a good motor and frame and everything works. So after some phone calls we set up a meeting to see the bike in crawfordsville Ind. at his college professers dyno shop. So my cousin and I check it out, ride it, seems like a pretty good deal. Now he doesnt have the title bank does.( I know not everyone can buy a bike outrite including me ive bought and sold this way before) So i have the transaction written up as i have before and signed by him and i, my cousin and someone who works at the shop he knows.(everyhting was included in the write up from VIN, copy of liscence, date of sale, title sent upon payoff, and the cash transaction was witnessed by all of us) So anyway 2weeks go by and i call him, have you paid off the bike yet? he says ill be home this weekend from school and will go pay it off (some town by st louis on the ILL side) so i give it a little more time. The following week my wife calls me at work telling me some mike guy called and wants his bike back, the bank wants to repo it:rant right im confused as hell at this point to! So here it is in a nut shell, cj was going to take over payments from mike(the real owner) and stopped paying, so 4mnths go buy and the bank wants there bike back. During this time this asshole (cj) takes an ad out on craigs list 2 sell a bike he doesnt legally own, and keep the money. (mine) So the fraud investigator from the bank who holds the title calls me and says they need the bike back and legally i have to give it up. So i have no bike and no money now, I call the asshole(cj) and tell him you sold me a bike you coudnt provide a title for its not even your FN bike, you have aweek to give my money back! So throught that week he makes up every excuse in the book and doesnt have my money, so i tell him im done and will persue it legally and criminally. So i go down to the normal ILL police station and file a report where im from, she takes my info and tells me it is fraud ,and a felony, its deception. But she has to send the report to the crawfordsville police since thats where it to place, and they will investigate. So its been 3wks since, and i feel like im getting put off by both departments. Im getting no help and im loosing it, i have no money no bike and ide like to beat 3200 dollars worth of asss off this (cj) kid! Is there any other way to deal with this ?he committed fraud( afelony im told in ILL over $300)the police are dragging there feet and I have no money or bike, and why isnt he arrested yet ,im sure by now the little prick thinks he got away with it. please help any info or insight would be appreciated, I know theres some cops and lawyers on here somewhere, thanx for listining.

Sorry to say this, but it sounds like you are pretty screwed. You've done just about everything legally that you could as far as getting your $ back. Of course there are the non-legal things which we don't need to get into that involve baseball bats and kneecaps.:nforc:

I live in St. Louis. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

I'd see if the local news would want to cover the story. People would start falling over each other trying to help you out once it was aired on TV.

I would still call the S.A. and see what they have to say, maybe they can give you some tips on how to get the ball rolling faster also?

I cant see how they can take this long if you are pressing charges. Anything done by mail to get the guy for mail fraud also?

Since the ad was place on the internet, file a complaint with the FBI Internet fraud division. Anything to stick a thorn in this guys side at this point.

Live with his parents? Might be time to talk to them also?

Oh, then I would also start letting people that he deals with a lot what a POS he is, starting with going to the college professors dyno shop asking for all his info and that you will be adding him to a witness list along with his employees to go against his student cj for the 3200 dollars.
Good call ,did that . Suposedley the hillbilly crawfordsville police went there to ask them questions. the detective here in normal said the sargent in crawfordsville didnt even know what to charge this kid with..... are you FN kiddn me!!!

Im not sure if your local and state laws are the same but here a private party contract of sale has to be notorized in order to be legaly binding. If your local pd is anything like the one i worked for, try writing a letter to the chief of police and cc it to the city manager, mayor and local news paper. In the letter include the whole story, a copy of the police report and something saying how you feel the incompitent detective your dealing with has caused you to lose all faith in the police and justice system. This usually causes very bad publicity for the department and city. Hopefully some one with a little pull around there will motivate the detective to do his job

I would advise against calling the "detective" incompetent or in any way airing out dirty laundry in public. Everything you have heard about the detective is from other people anyhow, so.....be careful about what you say about the officer or the PD...you could bring more heat on to yourself.

If anything I'd just tell the truth and stick to the facts: you lost money you couldn't afford to lose and you don't feel a resolution is "near". No need to create more problems than you already have, ya know?

my family had a similar case...well we were building a new store, and the guy we hired had direct access to the line of credit (450,000.00) anyways what this jerkoff was doing was when he would pay a contractor he would take double out..so he owed the plumber 5k he would take out 10k....anyways after all the money was gone he split and filed for bankruptcy....We've filed against him but the prick already has 13 judgments against him from other people and the lawyer said that well probably never see our money again.....
Hope you have better luck bud

I went through something like this long time ago, but I kept the bike. Someone mentioned the FBI, but don't bother. My case involved twice as much as you paid and the agent said they don't bother with anything that is not significantly more.

Did you give the bike back to the bank? You could report the bike "stolen" and strip it and sell it piece by piece. Or go buy a good frame with a clear title(when you can) and swap everything over. Of course this is all illegal, but....no one cares so how you gonna fix the problem yourself, ya know? Just my .02.

Good luck, dude.

I did give the bike back , wish i wouldnt of now. Just got off the phone with the crawfordsville sargent, he said he and the states att couldnt find anything crimanally to charge him with since he had an agreement to buy the bike with his friend and take over payments that made him partial owner. Are you FN kiddn me:chair:im movin to crawfordsville and sellin bikes, since theres no real laws there!!!

The only way to get the police interested in the bike issue is if you are speeding on it. :crash It won't make them any money helping you get your money back. Sorry.

Dude, I hope you get your moneys worth out of his sorry ass. Remember and I mean this. Bend his Fuggin Knee Backwards until his toes touch his thigh, Then for the rest of his life he will always remember that asswhooping everytime he limps his ass anywhere he has to go.
