Hello all,

I need some of your expertise. I have a 1988 yamaha DT50. When I start it I have the choke on the carb pulled all the way out. When it warms up I start to push it back in. However if I push it all the way in it revs really high then dies. I can only seem to run it with the choke pulled halfway out. I have replaced the sparkplug and air filter. No matter how much a play with the mixture screw I can not seems to get it to idle and run with the choke all the way in. I have also cleaned the carb and the fuel lines and the in tank fuel filters and the fuel shut off. I am out of ideas. PLease help.

Thanks Guys.

Cheers

Just a guess but it sounds like vacum leak maybe by the manifold, i.e.:dried out. Have you tried spraying some carb cleaner around the boot and listen for a rise in the idle? :thumbup
