A group of buddies and I did 1100 in 3 days on a trip from Southern IN. to Deal's Gap and back. It wasn't too bad as long as you stay off the Interstates. The curvy back roads keep you shifting your weight side to side to keep the blood flowing in your arse.
On the other hand, a trip up to Indy (a little over 100 miles) just about killed me. It was all STRAIGHT.
i did 2200kms to phillip island and back on a vfr800 and my neck was rooted for at least a week after i got home.
was in pain the whole time back about 2 days, vfr was not so comfortable r1 would be a killer
950 miles in one day on a 996 from waynesboro virginia to fort myers florida
it was the last day of a week and half trip. Went from south west florida to new hampshire for bike week total trip mileage was about 4500. Ive actually done the trip twice. I was so used to riding distances that it wasnt that bad. Now i dont put enough miles on my bike, it would kill me!!!
Dude, you're a real man! Especially on a Ducati; the ergonomics of an R1 are like a sport-tourer compared to a Ducati!
I've done plenty of 500+ mile days on an R1, but almost 1000 miles in a single day is almost unheard of on a full-on sportbike. If you would have kept records, you could have qualified for some type of iron-butt award.
625 miles. South Bend, In to Fort Wayne, In to Indianapolis to Nashville, Tn to Huntsville, Al. 90% Interstate!!! & thunderstorms the last 150 miles, UGGGHHHHH!!!! Was on a '88 CBR 1000F Hurricane.
I did 900 km in a day in the pouring rain. North Conway NH to just outside of Toronto on a 96 ZX-7, 3 hours from home I would have traded it for a Skoda with a flat tire.....I've done 600km + days on my R1's and didn't have half the pain...:thumbup
2165 miles in 2 days. From Palmdale to San Fransisco on PCH, went over the Golden Gate Bridge, headed east and came back down through Kern County. Butt was sore for a day, not to mention while I was riding.
Wow, all of this is making me rethink my thoughts on riding from WA to ND this summer. It's 1274 miles and I was thinking of spreading it over three days but that is still 425 miles a day, two days = 637 miles a day. I don't know now.
Maybe after I put a few more miles on my new bike I will come to a conclusion. After all that riding I won't be able to sit on a bar stool and get drunk with my friends.
i will have a ride about 700 km on next saturday....from Bali island to my city ....i will take some pics to you bro....sadly said i will ride my HD...coz my R1 still tear apart waiting for fairing come (have a wreck last december)....
ill post some nice ride pics...i promise...
nova scotia, canada to new jersey. i think it's not bad if you have a tankbag that you can lean on a little, take some of the weight off. make sure u have a light helmet and earplugs.
575 miles one day, Jackson to Dallas. Breaking in the new 1. Didnt feel a thing. I think the R1 is the most comfortable sportbike hands down. Although many people are complaining about Ducks, i didnt found them uncomfy at all. Not as good as the 1 but not bad.
I've done 800 miles in a day... I also did 2600 miles in a weekend.
