I'm 5'9'' and am curious if there are any other "vertically challenged" guys out there, that have an R1... Do y'all have any problems? How tall would you have to be?

At least tall enought at the inseam so your toes touch the ground!!!! I think the seat height on the bike is 29.5 inches so anything above that is good. My friend Joey is 5'2" he had to take a little bit of the padding out of the seat but he manages just fine.

Me I'm 6'1 so no problems there. You shoud be fine.

i'm 5'8 and sometimes i can sit on it flat footed barely, but most of the time my heel is off the ground just a lil, you'll be fine, my roomate is 5'7" and rides an r1 also.

i am 5'10' at 150lbs, and I could sit on it just fine. I have no issues with my 02, and they felt like they were the same height, within an inch or so. hope that helps

Thanks it helps alot... What is the Ideal height for the bike anyhow? I mean, what height and weight would be the best for the performance?
Enough legs to put your knee down.... Enough weight for traction on the tire, but not too much to slow the bike down... Anybody want to take a logical guess or give their thoughts on the perfect physique for riding the R1? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm 5-9 5-10ish. I can sit flat footed on my 2000 R1 no prob. In fact I don't recall having a problem sitting on a bike and touching the ground ever (except for when I was younger and shorter.)

At 6' and 210 I fitted just right at the show. It's going to be a handful for people under 5'8" but certainly not a big deal. The Kawasaki seemed smaller and lower. :dunno
6'1 235, that's one of the reasons I switched from getting the zx-10. It's smaller than a 636. I need all the leg room I can get :rock

5'10, 140lbs, I fit fine on my '03 and have no problem tossing it through turns.

Just slide off the seat a little to one side and plant one good foot down at the light. Thats what I do and my bike is nearly vertical at lights with one solid foot for support. I am 5'7 and could probably handle an Adventure 950 no problem.

5'8 and 170 no problem here. almost 2 feet flat on the ground
