How to remove front wheel??

Hello!!

Im looking to have my wheels powered coated but have a problem with removing the wheels. Basically I dont have a front paddock stand.

How safe is it to jack the front end up with a trolley jack on the sump and lower onto bricks/blocks of wood. I understand that it maybe a tad unstable but im more worried about cracking the lump or something serious like that.

Any ideas how I can get the front wheel off without a paddock stand.

for the 16GBP it costs for a front wheel stand i'd just buy one. Why take the risk of causing hundreds worth of damage?

get the front tripple tree stand thats the one you should get to easily remove wheels. i gotta pony up and get a front and rear stand before winter

to answer the o.p, yes you can jack under the sump to lift the front wheels.
i've done it numerous times.
i use 2 jacks though......1 on each side of the front of the sump and wind them up together CAREFULLY at the same rate.
oh yeah, i use bottle jacks that wind up. the old school type, but i guess any jacks would work.
it's better to have two people doing it too.:fact

Another trick that i've used is to hang some ratchet straps from the rafters(assuming you know they're strong enough) and lift the bike by the upper triple clamp.

rafters are great and I've done it, I really suggest a few good stands though

Don't forget use the rear one first, then the front one
