Thanks for sharing I've got one of those myself but the most I've seen is 155 and that's enough to kill yourself or somebody else.

i also saw a indicated 186, on this runway slight tailwind, akropovik exhaust and pcIII, the gps unit on my bike only indicated max speed to be 178, once and 174 the other time believe gps over spedo

 

I have seen 189 indicated on my '02. This was on the interstate and believe me, those last few MPH take a long time.

 

Just to let everyone know that the 2003 r1 is capable of an indicated 186. I never thought it was possible because I have seen countless posts with people talking about indicated top speeds under 186 for the 2003. Today deep into the country on empty highways, I hit it at 60 to 186. Held the 186 for about 5 seconds. Anyways, I thought the 2004-2005 models were needed for the top indicated speed, but thats not the case. Anyways, useless post but I just thought I'd share. My only mods is a Tri-Oval Yosh.

Have had mine wound out to 279 @ Phillip Island. Felt there was a bit more to squeeze out of it though(as I couldnt get my exit from turn 12 right:2bitchsla)

I had my '00 R1 at 187....INDICATED

 

Sounds about right... But we all know indicated can be off by up to 20mph actual...

really? interesting...whats kind of mods? and how off can gps be? usually about 2 mph or so I think...

 

Anybody have any idea what 14grand in sixth gear with stock gearing (on an 05)? I haven't had the opportunity to check it with a gps and the speedo stops reading any higher around 13grand. (and yes, I know the speedo isn't all that accurate at speed)

Be careful you don't get dead. I get my 03 up to like 90 indicated on the street, track WFO :riding

 

Indicated is worth as much as word of mouth. At anything over 100 mph, a GPS is required to get real numbers. I've seen 232 mph on salt, 213 on the street (oops). 232 was a turbusa, 213 SuperGSXR. Both times indicated didn't match close AT ALL to actual.
