Sorry the GNX is a sweet car indeed, and was the fastest stock production GM car at the time back in 86' or 87'. It was even faster stock than the L98 corvette.

Yes I have seen many of them race at Rock Falls Raceway in Wisconsin, and stock they are quick, modded extremely FAST; but, it's no R1 KILLER not by a longshot stock!

You said it markeddy-

For as fast as the GNX is, the R1 makes it looks like a tricycle powered by a red-headed step child.:lol

i saw a gnx on ebay for 40k, with 8 miles on it!!!!!1 btw the gnx is the special edition grand national...so it is called the grand national gnx
Sorry but the GNX is not a special edition Grand National. It is a Grand National that was sent to ASC McLaren for a major overhaul. I have never, ever, heard one referred to as a Grand National GNX. And I have lusted over turbo Buicks for 15 years now. While the Grand National and the GNX look very similar the GNX is way more hard core than the Grand National. Take a look at these pages if you want some more info.

There are literally hundreds of web pages dedicated to the GNX. Check them out, it is one hell of an interesting story.

Nice link bro. Very interesting on how the GNX was born.
