haha thanks man. it was 12,5sumthin out the door including tax and everything. they originally told me 13200 and i was like yea uh no. then they told me 12800 and i said look im picking it up with a pickup truck i dont want plates or registration done for me so get rid of the reg fee and blah blah so yea

Congrats. I saw that same color bike at a dealer in Plano, Tx yesterday, except they had put Yosh exhaust on it. That black and gold looks good. :fact



BTW, they also had a red one there. :ugh

The wheels that looked in the pictures to be a titanium color are actually a pukey green kind of color. Looks VERY BAD. The flat red side and tank cover look like shit, too.

Black or Blue is the way to go. :thumbup

I was wondering if you got it yet (you responded to one of my threads, "08 R1?"). Thats the one I'm thinking about getting... I haven't yet decided if I want to give up my 04 though. The only thing I don't like about the 07-08s is the pipe setup (they're too spread out), but I'm thinking an aftermarket exhaust would make it look 100% better (haven't seen one with an aftermarket exhaust yet). She's smaller than my R1 also, but I bet she rides like a dream...hopefully I'll decide what to do this weekend.

This years colours are the best in a long time.. finally an all black.. and all cranberry R1 again.

As much as I said my next bike will be a Gixxer1k.. its hard hard hard not to continue loving the sexy azz R1..

Dealers are out to make money (cause that's what they do). Ugly it may be to you but I think it's pretty awesome, oh yea and it rides like a dream too.
And forget about the MSRP the dealer pays 9k for the R1, the rest is pretty much profit except the taxes and MVD fees.

And YES I hate people that tell me that I've got a crappy deal. Which means that I'm saying things that I would hate to hear about my purchase. Sorry dude, it's a great deal then.

Sorry to say but he (Tomos) has a point to some degree. I don't know about it being a crappy deal since you can't expect to get the best deal in the beginning of the model year, but at least you got them to discount it. The dealer preys on the fact that you want the bike badly and they try and bleed you for every penny. This is a lot easier for them to do if you don't have a bike in the first place. If I decide to get the 08 R1, I'm gonna try and get that blowout price right now. I'm thinking I'll pay 10.5K OTD at most and if they say no I'll be more than happy to keep riding my 04.

I wouldn't worry too much about the deal though, you got them to discount it and you have a sweet machine :thumbup

 

sup guys just picked up my 08 raven from the dealer. this thing is a beast i cant be happier. it ended up costing me less than i was quoted which is sweet. here are a few pics... sorry they are pretty crappy but its gettin late and i dont have my good digi cam. anyway.. here she is...

well ive gotten a decent amount of seat time and no glitches what so ever. in fact the throttle response is excellent, ill let you guys know if i run into any lag.
