My dumb a$$ friend tried moving my bike out of the way today and dropped it in the grass. Thank god nothing was even scratched, but I am afraid that the lean angle sensor was activated. I wanted to know if there was anyway to clear the code out of the computer without taking it to the dealership. Last time I had to pay $67 to have the code cleared. Did not know if there was some way to clear it out using the guage buttons?

unplug it and plug it back in. I used to have my alarm hooked to the lean angle switch, and once it tripped the code. Once I unarmed the alarm again it was fine so I think it checks with each power-up.

The thing im worried about is it showing a code when I go to the dealership for any repairs. I had the idle problem before an they said it was due to the lean angle switch being triped. and charged me $70 to clear it. I know there is no way that was the problem with the idle because the bike fell over in the parking lot the second day I had it. 7 months later I have a idle problem and they blame it on the that stupid code.

I parked mine on the grass and when i returned it was laying on its side.I lifted it back up and let it sit for 10 mins. That was over 8 months ago and have'nt had a problem with it.

Don't want to sound like a dumb a$$, but what the hell is a lean angle sensor (apart from a sensor that detects the angle that the bikes leaned at) Is it on all bikes or is it an after market thingy-ma-bob?

That device cut the power to certain parts of the ignition/fuel of a given bike so the engine just cuts off when you drop it or crash it.
