Why did you make two threads essentially asking the same question? Why not just make one that says "Let's see your 09-14 White and Matte Grey R1's"? Besides you left out the best color of them all Red :crash

btw does anyone recommend a particular type of cleaning solution for this color? I don't want to mess anything up but I know not to use polish or wax.

 

I've been using this on both bikes. Works great .. Its clear, doesnt streek or leave white residue. And beads water like a mofo

 

It was my understanding that wax in general is a no no for this color.

 

I started using this back when I had my 03 R1 with flat black sides , Used it on my 07 with the flat black sides . my 09 I put flat black sides on it , & now My Wifes 13 Matt Gray. Not 1 single problem with any of the painted panels.

NoT saying I'm right ,not saying your wrong.
Just letting you know it has worked for me with great results.

But you can rest assure they will come out with a " Matt Finish ONLY!! cleaner & polish " for $29.99

And thanks, I love this color What fender eliminator does your wife have btw? I wanted to get one that just bolts to the stock location with no modifications and so far, the only one I found is the DMP kit.

Yeah the matte gray is my favorite color

 

I would never suggest using wax on a matte finish. a matte clear coat is different from a high gloss clear coat. the carnuba or other specialized wax meant to bring out gloss of course is not meant for a matte clear.

Also beware of certain car wash liquids/shampoos, majority of them contain wax.

I would suggest using 303 Aerospace Protectant

 

I use pledge......

 

The GYTR fender eliminator looks really nice, and is completely modular, allowing you to keep all the stock equipment (plate light, signals, reflectors, etc) or just run the plate holder. I haven't had any clearance issues with my Leo pipes.

It's pretty reasonably priced too.
