Marc Marquez did not just test Hondas, he also ended up testing his leathers. The Spaniard lost the front at Turn 10 – aptly named Schwantz corner – the fold wheel folding completely. Arm and shoulder hit the ground, but Marquez had the presence of mind to open the throttle a little. This was just enough to lift the back back onto its wheels, and have both tires grip again. Half-hanging off the bike, Marquez opened the throttle some more, the bike's momentum hauling it upright, and Marquez could pull himself back into the saddle. It is an amazing save, with a fair sprinkling of luck and a massive dose of talent. A brief sequence of the crash caught by a photographer is up on Marquez' Facebook page.

I'd like so see him make a save like Edwards or Mamola and go on to win the race. Brno proved he's human, and not infallible.
I'm not sure what lap it happened on, but I saw during the Brno race as Marquez was at full lean in a corner, the front wheel appear to tuck, wobble, steer......something that was dramatically noticeable if you were looking at it, yet he never lost it. I have it recorded and will have to go thru it to find it, but I remember instantly thinking he was gonna crash, but completely rode through it. I thought sure the announcers were going to say something about it, but I guess they completely missed it. Either that or I didn't see what I thought I saw.

All this talk and there isn't a single person here that could do any of those saves :corn

He's skilled, they all are, and with maybe the grace of god and 10 guardian angels we might be able to do half as good of a save on our best day :yesnod

Well obviously none of us have that sort of skill, or we'd (hopefully) be racing professionally, and not sitting here talking about it :)

Even your slower racers in MotoGP (Laverty or Edwards, for instance) have an immense amount of skill on a motorcycle. It's just that the front-runners are on way better hardware, and as such, are able to push harder, brake deeper, go faster, and of course have more natural talent, but still the "slow" guys could ride circles around the rest of us.

Yup, I know it. That's why I'm not comparing saves between marq, Edwards, etc... Hell the argument could be made that traction control did a bunch of the saving for Marq. I don't think that personally, but it's possible.

I do think that if the best rider here, is getting a M1 from Yamaha prepared for his riding style. after a couple of training day's hey could race motogp and finish before abraham. I think:smilies7::smilies7:

I think that is ridiculous to think that a talented Club Racer can just jump into MotoGP and beat any of the current riders including Abraham. If that was the case this "Best Rider" would already be making a name for himself and well on his way to being a top National rider before moving onto the World Stage. Josh Herrin is a perfect example of this. Josh is a very talented rider and was AMA SuperBike Champion for 2013 and is now lucky to finish a race in Moto2, let alone crack the top 20. I think in time Josh will learn the tracks well and the bike, riding style, etc. and will be competitive but, it won't be this year.

Sure, put Karel Abraham on a bike that isn't shit and see how that bet goes :p

Whether you agree with how Abraham got there (money) he has still been racing professionally since starting with 125cc back in 2005. He did manage a Moto2 win, back in 2010 when he finished the championship in 10th place.

The bar in all 3 of the classes is ridiculously high. I'd wager that you could put the fastest guy on this forum on an M1 and he couldn't beat half the pack in Moto3. Those kids are quick, and they will only get quicker as they move up the series, they've been racing the majority of world quality GP tracks for 5-10 years or more.

fcvkin showoff, first he shows everybody up by draggin his elbow at every corner, now he's gettin his shoulder down.

At this point, any further lean angle gained through tire technology will pretty much make this a slot car race.
