OK guys, I have a 02 which is fully stock except for a 520 conversion kit with a 45 tooth rear.

I have around $500 to spend on it and need your help to make the most of the money. I was thinking...

Scott's steering damper - $400

Competition Werkes fender eliminator - $159
or
Graves velocity stacks - $95

Do I need a PCIII to get any advantage from the velocity stacks? I won't be getting one until I put a new exhaust on sometime next year.

TIA

I would go ahead and grap a damper then save up for a full system and pcIII.

Steering dampers only mask the problems of poorly setup suspension, look into new springs and valving front and rear to match your weight and riding style.
Not going to disagree...The springs and valving are better than average, but no Ohlins. However, they are more than adequate for a 180 lb man. But, riding a 2002 that has been setup by track guys with proper tire pressures...Front will shake when on the gas in a curve and rough pavement...It's not masking anything...The bitch shakes, sometimes semi-violent!

I can guarantee you I can get any stock 2002 to do it!

It needs a damper!

NY2NJ......I would love to get free stuff....trust me! In fact, the co-owner Shane McCoy (SpidermanSS) even pays for his stuff!!!

My philosophy is that I like to brag about where I am proud to shop. They treat me like royalty over at McCoy Motorsports....in fact, it's nothing special, you too can be treated the same with one phone call. I will bet R1@150@alltimes to take you out to lunch just to prove it......LOL.

Everyone seems to think that you get a kickback for speaking highly of a company. Let me ask you this......when you visit abroad and brag about our great country, does the US Govt. give you stuff for free? LOL...... Get my analogy bro?

Besides, Mike has allowed me to set up some really great group buys in the past, i.e., Pit Bull stands, Chatterboxes, etc. This in turn, allows for further savings to the 2-wheel riding community.

And I tell you to mention my name so you can get the icing on the cake. Go ahead, try it.

Just to add to this discussion, ScorpionR1 has been an asset to this forum in more ways than one. In fact, when I first got my R1 and was looking to get an exhaust, he helped me get a really good deal on my devil high mount. Further, I have seen several group buys that were set up by him that seemed to go very well.

So there's no need for any hostilities.... The reason we're all members of this forum is to get good advice .... and that includes getting good advice on places with the best customer service.
