New ebc clutch slipping

So yesterday I finished my clutch, I replaced the basket due to grooves from the disks rubbing and creating grooves in the basket, anyways I also ordered ebc clutch kit from an online store I had credit at so I figured why not use it. I've never ran anything other than oem so I thought I would give it a try. So today on my test ride I started the bike and let it warm up for awhile and then took a nice easy ride a few miles into town. No issues on the way into town at all, but on my way home I kinda rolled on it just a little maybe half throttle in 3rd and it felt like it slipped a tiny bit when the power built up so then I tried a few more times to be sure I was feeling what was going on. It was definitely slipping, I tried adjusting the adjuster on the handle bars the releive tention on the clutch cable to see if I had it too tight, and that caused more slippage. At that point I returned the adjuster to normal free play to the lever and limped it home. There was no slippage at low rpm and small throttle input, even up my steep driveway. So I will pull it apart tomarow and see what I screwed up, oh and a side not I had a graves clutch kit installed already which I left in the bike, it's in great shape still. I don't have any immediate ideas where I screwed up, maybe when I measured the stack height I misread my caliper, from what I remember the ebc stack was slightly taller that the stock stack. I may reinstall stock again if I can't see an issue

I am assuming you are speaking of the EBC discs as well and if that's the case, those are not compatible with full synthetic oil which I am assuming (again) you run your bike on.

I learned the hard way on my 01, cost me few oil changes and it is not mentioned anywhere except on their website where you will find a very fine print saying "EBC clutches are not compatible with full synthetic oil".

Bloody EBC, I hate their brake pads and now I hate their clutches. I hate the whole damn company!

Well after reading on ebc website for awhile with nothing even in fine print I finally found evidence of them sayin not to use synthetic oil in the review section. If you ask me that's a total dick move to sell more product by misleading their customers. Everybody runs synthetic now why the hell would they not put it on ever dam package. I'm going to be calling them today after I drain my oil and pull their crap out of my bike. I didn't mind their brake pads but I'm definitely moving to another company now.

Oh believe me, it is somewhere, it took me a few to find that print other than in the comment section. I was really pissed as well, I threw a fit at the seller on Amazon and I got a 50% refund! Next time, I'll go with OEM clutch.

https://ebcbrakes.com/product/race-sport-srk-series/ I've looked multiple times and I purchased it from sportbiketrackgrear.com I even asked them if they have heard of this being an issue and they said they have never heard of that being an issue. Either way I have already put my stock stuff back in I haven't taken it for a test ride yet I'm on babysitting duty lol so hopefully I can take it out later today for some reassurance. I replaced the basket, the springs, oil and the pressure plate on the spring side due to wear marks in it from the springs rubbing. So it should be a nice ride now. It is way quieter when I pull the clutch lever in and out no more rattle or vibration

funny, I have been running a HINSON basket, SRK EBC clutch pack with my YOYODYNE full slipper clutch for 2-3 seasons and never had any slippage whatsoever. :no

I never use anything but T6 ROTELLA full synthetic oil

not trying to go against y'all for arguments sake, but when i replaced my entire setup it was because the oem clutch boss had snapped in
three different places. I too had slippage at higher rpm in 2nd to 4th gear. It had nothing to do with the clutch pack at all. But i decided
to upgrade cause i hated the oem cluth anyway.

Well just an update after reinstalling the oem and going back out it ran perfect for about 10 miles ran it easy to that point and when I actually got on it, it pulled the front tire off the ground in first and second just rolling on and then it started slipping again. I can't express the frustration at this point. Before I ever pulled it apart it never slipped ever, it was just noisy and made a small vibration, notched basket and pressure plate. So now I don't know what to do, I found a new friction plate still in the package from another oem kit I had so I will try putting it in the stack in replacement for the friction against the new pressure plate. If that doesn't work I'll probobly shoot something at that point

there is one thing that is extremely important when installing new clutch pack.. YOu need to soak them in oil overnight prior to install.

I think i used semi-synthetic oil which i had laying around just for kicks but i would think any oil is a good idea.
You definitely should not install them bone dry. that is a mistake. If this is what you have done then there is your issue :yesnod

I do not believe the EBC clutch plates were slipping purely due to use of synthetic oil. I would closely inspect your clutch boss as well :dunno

Since I will be doing some modifications for more power this season I just wrote to EBC directly to see what they recommend for my setup.

I am not entirely certain its the SRK kit i'm running to be perfectly honest now as I looked back at pictures and realized I used the YOYODYNE
springs and an SRK kit comes with its own springs. So I know its an EBC clutch pack but now cant be certain which ones. I am hoping they
will be able to tell me if there are markings I can use to identify. I installed this kit in September of 2013 so its been a while.

No I soaked everything plenty and inspected the boss it has a slight groove in it from the graves kit rights but that's it. I will keep looking though
