As I said, I can't pull fluid through the bleed valve...I'll pump up the Mityvac to 25, open the bleed valve and I'm drawing nothing...And I'm not concerned with why the fluid was gone at the moment because I want to take it one step at a time. If I get my brakes working again, and then the fluid is disappearing I will worry about a leak.

I'll try the teflon tape and if that doesn't work, I'm going to unscrew the various banjo bolts and see if somehow something is clogging it...the fact that both left and right brake lines are experiencing the came problem means the issue is between the banjo bolt on the master cylinder and the reservoir.

teflon tape wont help you now.
If your not drawing anything .
Its time to disassemble the master cylinder and give it a good cleaning.
Making sure theres no internal obstructions, of the tiny holes in the mastercylinder, and that the piston assembly is in good shape.
Get a manual, so you can follow along.

THE BLEEDER IS JUST CLOGGED. rEMOVE IT AND BLOW COMPRESSED AIR THROUGH IT. cOMMON PROBLEM.

Well I found the culprit:

...It's a little rubber like cup that sits in the reservoir, I am assuming to block out UV rays and possibly filter the fluid??? I had always wondered why I couldn't see in the reservoir, so I suctioned out the water and low and behold, I don't see an exit hole for the fluid to leave! I stick my finger in there and realize that there is that cup thing there, I pull it out and there is a suction sound.

I fill the reservoir up with fluid, hook up the mityvac and wha-la, fluid comes pouring out the bleeder. My brake lever is now harder than ever! I'm just going to leave that cup thing out, since my bike spends most of its time under a cover and I'll flush my fluid at least two to three times a year, so there's no need for UV protection imo. Anyways, gonna go take it out and see how the brakes feel. It'll be awesome to ride after not being able to for a week! :riding :vanish

Why do I need a clymer manual when I have a Hayne's manual. It suits my purposes and I figured it out regardless.

And if I'm supposed to put it back in, would you mind telling me what it is and why it wasn't letting fluid flow through it? Also, what will turning it inside out do? The only thing I can see is it obstructs my view of the brake fluid...

ok.. it's not suppose to stay in the shape it's in right now, it folds back up and the purpose is to seal the resevoir. It moves and keeps the fluid on the inside (under it) and is designed to be drawn down into the resivoir when brakes are applied due to a vacumme effect inside the sealed system but only moves slightly, when fluid gets too low it pulls it down further until it looks like yours, even your cars resivoir cap will have this. If you look at the plastic washer you'll see groves that are cut to allow air in past the threads and into the space above the rubber allowing it to move. Without it your resevoir WILL leak brake fluid out past your threads on the cap... don't beleive me filler up and lean the bike over but be prepared to clean up any that gets out.

Thank you. :hellobye

I already went out riding and noticed that there was a fluid leak from the reservoir and I thought it was involved in the "gasket" as I called it. :thumbup
