I've always been a fan of the crossed tuning forks brigade! & I've just picked up a 08 R1, (OD 8600k's ~ 5375mls), which I had to push on a trailer, as "she don't run", but she turns over! She has good compression, no oil milk shake, no creamy radiator cap, so I took a punt & handed over $2500 au, thinking fuel system overhaul? I'm hoping this one owner who spent more time polishing it & not riding it, giving that old saying ~ "ya don't use it, ya lose it"! & yea! I know i can get more than my money back parting her off, But hell no! The 08 R1 is a kick ass bike! & I'm really hoping it is the fuel system, where if so? I'll have that weaponry back to tip top for very little parts $, along with my time!
So give me a week or so, as by then, I'll for sure know if I've just bought a bike where $300 & some elbow grease will times this 08 R1 resell value by 4 times?
