Our story:

I first started riding in Jan 2011. Bought a 2009 R6 that I taught myself on and rode (literally) until the wheels fell off. Totaled it 9 months later. I always wanted the R1 but I didn't think I was ready for a liter bike yet, so I bought a 2011 GSXR-750. Had that for 3 weeks before some a**hole stole it while it was parked at work. Insurance helped pay for a 2011 R1. I was finally happy and learning my new liter bike. Until another a**hole stole that one from home 5 months later. Was debating on whether or not it was in the cards for me to have a bike since all 3 were taken from me in one way or another.

Insurance money came in so I, on impulse, went out and bought the 2012 Raven R1. Immediately fell in love with it (and its new TCS). I work at a motorcycle and car performance shop, so almost immediately I got to work personalizing and modding it as best I could. We're not a big shop so I couldn't just throw unlimited money at it. After setting up the stock suspension, HID's, SS brake lines, and Monster Energy graphics, I was invited to take it to the SPOCOM Auto Show in Anaheim, CA in August. While there were no official trophies for bikes last year, I did get a lot of interest in the bike.

The whole idea behind the bike was to have a show quality bike that tore up the SoCal canyons every weekend. And that was accomplished. Until I wrecked it on the 405 freeway riding in the rain. After 6 hours in ER and trauma, I learned I had a broken elbow, staples in my hip, tons of road rash, dislocated shoulder, and nerve damage throughout my left arm. The bike was taken in pieces to my shop. For a week I debated ever riding again. I have a 3 year old son and was worried about leaving him too early. After that I got to work rebuilding both my bike and my body. Now, 3 months later, both of us are fixed and ready to get back to riding. While I don't have the biggest list of mods, I think my bike definitely looks good and I would love to see others impressions of it. So I now submit it for BOTM. Thanks for the consideration.

Hope you heal 100% and your bike looks nice but do a search on BOTM. There are some serious bikes on this forum! These guys know R1's! What they don't buy after-market (cosmetic and performance) they fabricate custom mods! Good luck in the future!

Momentary lapse in judgement on the gear. The rotors should be here by the end of the week. I'll put new pics up then. I've seen most of the bikes that have won previously, and I know my list pales in comparison. But I figured why not show it off. While definitely not on the same level as some of you guys, I still think its a pretty bad ass bike! :tocoo:

Very nice build so far brutha. I use to think the Monster logo only belonged on Kawis' but have since changed my mind. I love the the look on your bike and guess who will be the first new major sponsor for the Yamaha MGP factory team this year...that's right...Monster! Looks like we both beat everyone to the punch. :rock

I'm just now realizing I met PacMan about 4-5 months ago on a Sunday ride with Assassins. I can honestly say his bike was probably one the main driving factors for my switch to the 2012. My '06 was nicely modded, but his R1 was just on another plateau :fact And he's legit- Front of the pack when the revs get high. I heard from my buddy Splinter that he went down, but I didn't know the severity.

Glad you are all healed, back up and running bro... Nowadays I'm in full leather every time I throw a leg over... Road conditions (and drivers) are worse than ever in LA right now :fact

To be honest i dont like the 2012 R1 bikes they look fcked with massive plastic work on the sides. Its pretty much a Busa look alike.
Thats not even talking about the to fcking giganted cans :shake

Didn't even think of that.

The "fake" stick on carbon fiber serves a purpose right there. Adds a little non slip area where I can place my phone while I work on the bike. And it looks good with my real carbon triple clamp cover, GYTR gas cap cover, and GYTR tank pad. And the graphics are there because I like em.
