I've been searching on ebay and they have tons which confuses me...I'm looking quality while being stylish. I have a red R6 so I'd like to stick w/ black or red. I kind of like these carbon fiber looking ones on ebay (or is aluminum or metal not good):

Those look like LP sliders and I have yet to see a set survive a crash.
Intuitive sliders are good, I just got a set of Yoyo dyne sliders. Alum base with delrin caps that can be replaced wiht new ones. Also has a tie down hook to replace the cap for hauling. Havent tested it yet thank good ness but they look good.

I saw some European frame sliders a while back on the web somewhere. They looked like any other but insisted they had the strongest and best quility.

The feature that set them apart (and that may refresh someones memory of who they are) was they had stiff a spring inside that absorbed some of the shock of impact.

For all I know many may have this feature.... Anyone know what brand I'm describing?

Never heard of any with a spring in them.
Wouldn't those make your bike bounce down the road like a superball when you go down ? :lol Just keeps bouncing.... :lol

I ordered some from my dealer for my 04. Friend of mine had them on his fazer1 000 and they looked great. Manufacturer is Bike Design. They looked very solid and well built compared to some of the others I've seen.

I'm not putting them on for looks, so I don't care (too much) what they look like, as long as they work and don't snap off on the first lowside. What good are crash protectors that look the :boobies, but don't protect your frame when the time comes ? :dunno

Oh well - to each his own...

I had a set of those sliders you pictured first VS. They DIDN"T survive the crash and almost left the bolt in my engine and frame. Don't buy the good looking ones.. buy the ones that work.

I will vouch for earache's slider, they work. Period. Simple design and very clean looking. I run his frame and clutch sliders and have got his spool/sliders on the way. He can make them to any length you'd like. Give him a shout, he'll treat you right.

Avoid those LP at all cost (not worth the money, and/or headaches) :rant

Invest in some reputable race derived sliders, Harris, Intuitive, RGB, Earaches, etc. They will hold up must better in a crash.

I've personnaly used Intuitive in the past & they did their job in a crash. However be forewarned, sliders are only to MINUMIZE crash damage, they will not eliminate it, thats just the nature of the beast. Inevitably other parts/bodywork will get damaged as well, unless its just a tip over (and even then you may damage other parts) :yesnod

I now use Harris frame & clutch sliders from EMA (pic below), and have a set of Creations "Engine Armour" ordered to compliment the sliders. If I were doing trackdays with my 02, I would seriousely consider heavy duty after market cases (Factory Pro) :yesnod
