Question About LighTech Limited Edition Rearsets?

Greetings,

I've just bought LighTech Limited Edition Rearset for my 2012 R1. The one on the pic below:

I've just installed the sets but I had some problems on the brake side. I also would like to mention that I use the bike mostly on road. The kit doesn't include any springs. Is any of the aftermarket rearsets include the return spring as in the OEM one? Using the sets without a spring doesn't feel safe to me..

I also purhased this brake light switch but I realize that it's logic is different than the OEM one:

Is it going to be used as a bolt for the rear master cylinder? Right? So to solve this problem and the spring problem at the same time I've used the OEM brake light switch on the LighTech rearsets.

But this configuration looks so bad and I don't like it... :cryin As a result I'm not happy with it.... Is all the aftermarket rearsets have the same spring and switch problem? I want to have a rear set which has original springs attached and has a place to attach the sensor of brake light :secret: Any brands?

Thanks ;)

sweet jeebuz.. those look awesome..!! i'd never seen these... i'm running Gilles VCRs, of course they have return spring..
how would you work the brake other wise..? weird, yup, also comes with switch for brake light.. not all rearsets do though
cause they're meant for racetrack... no brake light on race track....

you can see the spring in this picture...

Hey man just go to Graves website and buy a super cheap rear brake return spring, suck but my satos dint come with one either and i dint want to depend solely on the rear rake fluid pressure to return the pedal so i bought a Graves return spring. Now its snaps back into place with haste. Now if your rearsets were suppose to come with some sort of spring setup and dint i would contact Giles or the vendor and ask them to send one.

Edit for link: http://www.gravesport.com/Graves-Motorsports-Sport-Bike-Rear-Brake-Return-Spring.html

Hope this helps.:)

LighTech R1 Limited Edition Rearsets (return spring and brake light switch solution)

Unfortunately it doesn't include a return spring :( Also Graves spring doesn't look like it would fit on my rear MC. Because mine doesn't have that black valve looking part at the top of it :s

Here's my solution:

Mounted the OEM brake Light sensor on the rearsets and attached it's spring to the pedal. Both light switch and return spring issues solved. But because of the angle the spring took spring acts weird and this setup doesn't look good to me :(

Here how the LighTech Limited Ed. RearSets look like:

Its just a banjo bolt pressure switch. You replace the banjo bolt where the line meets the master cylinder/bleed brakes. Cut the wire from the factory switch solder heat and heat shrink to the wires from the pressure switch and plug back into factory plug under tank.
