R1 2018 oil level

Hello my dear friends! I have a small question regarding my 2018 R1. Just had an oil service done on it and am having a bit of trouble interpreting if I have low oil or the correct level.

The first picture is from a cold start where I let the motorcycle idle for 5 minutes. Shut down and got this level after 2-3 minutes.

The second picture is from when I have driven the motorcycle for about 15 minutes. Turned off and got this level after 1 minute.

Do I need to top up? What is right? and how should the oil level be at the smal glas on the left?

I run mine a little higher, towards the top of the high level. Basically almost to the top line. Weird you had more oil after running the engine. The level in the second pic is perfectly fine especially if this bike is strictly street use.

Strange! feels like the oil expanded the hotter it got

I run my 15 at the top line. Never had a problem. Helps with the false low oil faults you may get during high rpm runs.

Did you check the oil level w the bike in same position both times? Ie, was it leaning in stand or standing vertical, the latter preferred. Also, 1 min is not long enough for ALL the oil to return to pan

I have a 2018 too, strictly a track bike, & as long as your oil level sits between the hash marks to the left in picture, you’re good. I tend to fill somewhat higher than the midpoint between the marks
