so I have a 2014 R1 and I love it but sitting on my friends S1000rr it felt so light compared to the r1 I wanted to ask do the new models feel lighter or is the S1000rr just have better weight distribution.

There’s not that much of weight difference.
for instance my R1M weighed around 435lbs and my buddys SL Duc weighed 400lbs. Big difference and very noticeable. Only that BMW that’s track only would be that noticeable when comparing.

I've ridden a 2009 and a 2018. Big difference. Then 09 feels big/heavy compared to 2018 when comparing the two setups. Maybe combination of overall weight and geometry.
Both are heavily modded and no cat (10lbs right there).
