Who all has radar detectors mounted on their bikes? Where did you mount it? can you hear it beeping???
I have one on my 04. I used a stem stand for the mount and I can hear it beeping except at over 120mph but at that speed, just nail it and go.NinetyEight740 said:Who all has radar detectors mounted on their bikes? Where did you mount it? can you hear it beeping???
I got a car cigaratte lighter cord extender and a wired it off the battery lead then routed the power cord through the bike and plugged it in under the back seat. Nothing permanent and I can use the cord and detector in my car in the winter.NinetyEight740 said:And another thing, where did you guys tap into the wiring harness to attach the radar wiring?? i mean all you need is a 12V key on power source, headlights? fuel pump? i would imagine the radar draws such little power you can tap into just about anything right?
I remember seeing a M stand... attaches to the mirror bolts. :yesnodNinetyEight740 said:Well the problem with the stem stand is.... what if you have a steering dampener??? then you cant use that method, any other ideas???
"radar detectors" are a waste of moneyNinetyEight740 said:No one said you had to trust them, but they do help...... that M Mount looks ok, i just wish i could see it mounted on a bike to see exactly how it looks and to see what it blocks, ya kno
Here's a pic of it on a zx-12. Pretty much the same thing.... You can adjust it so it doesn't really have to cover anything. This is your best option in your situation. :yesnodNinetyEight740 said:No one said you had to trust them, but they do help...... that M Mount looks ok, i just wish i could see it mounted on a bike to see exactly how it looks and to see what it blocks, ya kno
