Can you guys come up with some recommendations for a meeting spot for June 8th. The last meeting spot was cool but there wasn't anywhere special to ride to that was near to the location. The only places I can thing is around the Malibu/Rockstore area and the Crest. Any other suggestions?

I like to ride on Sat as well, but unfortunately this upcoming weekend, I have my graduation ceremony to attend to and I can't make a sat ride. We need to get organized for Vegas. We have patches, sticker and hopefully t-shirts and people said they want those prior to going to Vegas. So the only other time would be Sunday.

Also, how many people are interested in meeting up on June 8th and actually plan on coming?

Cops are coming down HARD on sportbikes at the Crest and (so I've heard) the Rockstore area, so I'd suggest this for Sunday the 8th:

- Meet in Sunland at the Coco's on Sunland Blvd. off the 210 fwy at 8AM
- Meeting/breakfast until 9-9:30AM
- Ride Big Tujunga-Angeles Forest-Lake Elizabeth-Lake Hughes
- 2nd meeting at Country Girl bar in Castaic. New barmaid there with big hooters :D , plus cheap beer... uh, soda
- Lunch at the Mexican restaurant down the street from Country Girl

Sound good to everybody? If so, add your name... need to reserve space at the Coco's if it's a big group

Wholly crap that's gonna be an early day. Hehehe...

Anyone have the actual address of that Coco's??? I have NO clue where the hell Sunland is. Hehehe...so I need an address so I can print out directions on how to get there. Sounds like it's going to be a good time.

I'm in...but just have to find out where it's at.

I need an actual address. I just checked Coco's website for sunland blvd. in Sunland, CA and it lists 5 darn locations near the 210!!!! I don't want to be gonig to the wrong one. LOL

So, if someone can give me the actual address, it would be much appreciated. :) :crash

Disregard...I'm a fargin' idiot. Found it on the site.

Address is:

Coco's
10521 Sunland Blvd.
Sunland, CA 91040

Just in case anyone else needs it.

Damn, I'm going to have to leave around 6:45 am to make it by 8 am!!!!!

Hehehe...see you guys on Sunday! :rock

What time are you taking off? It will take me an hour at least just going 5-CA2-210 from south OC. This would also make it hard for the San D guys to make it over 130 miles before 8AM.

How about if we meet in Santa Ana? We could hold our meeting there and then split off in groups North, South, East.

I don't mind the saddle time or the miles, but I would think this is a more central location that more people can get to.

If nothing else you guys coming from SD or East County can crash at my place Sat. night and we'll ride out in the morning. PM me for directions.

I'd have to agree with MX too...hehehhee...Santa Ana is only like 7-10 miles (if that) from me. However, I don't mind taking the trek out to Sunland either...

Whatever works for everyone. It's hard because everyone is spread out all over and sometimes you don't feel like riding forever on a freeway and the running the twisties and then riding forever back on the freeway.

However, doesn't matter. I think it'll be fun either way.

Whatever the concensus is, I'm sure I'll be down with that.

Word of WARNING.

I was at the Crest last Saturday 5/31. There was a cop up there pulling over EVRYONE! Even if you were NOT speeding he would pull you over and write you for any BS thing he could find.....aftermarket exhaust, turn signals, mirrors, lic. plates. Two guys got tickets, not for speeding....with at least 3 write ups each. He even said he would pull over EVERY bike he see's

Then I went to the Rock Store and seen a couple of cops but didn't see or hear of anyone getting tickets.

WTF is with these guys lately?

I mean, Huntington Beach police have been a$$holes lately too. THey have tagged a lot of guys for any little thing. One of our guys got nailed for not having his turn signals 9" apart. I mean, WTF is with that??? There is no statute that says the signals have to be a certain distance apart. It just states that they have to be visible as to which direction the signal is pointing/directing to.

Then you have the Cerritos problem. That is a cluster ***** in itself. It's just a bunch of crap. Really is. :(

Sucks that we can't go out and just enjoy our bikes. We are like the minority and getting busted for any little thing we do or not do.

Sorry, I guess I'll turn off my "rant" now.

i'm down for the meeting spot at cocos, but i'm kinda scared since my bike is really not street legal!!

So are we still a go for Coco's or ????

I know a couple of people posted other suggestions or something so I just wanted to make sure if I should keep the directions for Coco's and the plan is still an 8 am meet time.

Just makin' sure. :D

Sorry guys .... that is a little far for me ..... I will stay around the SD area ..... I will be needing new tires soon and if I attended that trip ...I would probably need then as soon as I got home. I will be riding my usual .... 76 to Palomar (fast side) off to Banner Grade and finish it up with Sunrise Hwy. Next ride ... if it is closer .. I will go.

Note: I am also trying to watch for the police .... I don't need to get any more tickets or get pulled over any more.

So far there is 7 of us I think. I thought there would be more since so many emailed me and told me that they would be interested in riding but I guess they changed their minds.

The way I see it is that we should change locations each time like we are doing it right now. Last time it was closer to SD, this time it's closer to LA and next time (if there is one) then we can go closer to SD again so everyone can get involved. What I don't understand is that we have so many people from S.cali, specially LA area but they never respond to these things. I think they are under impression that they are too good for us.

Hey now...how about closer to OC? LOL

Just kidding.

Ya, i don't quite understand what goes on here sometimes. Seems like there are a TON of people on this forum and most say "SoCal" or something to that effect under their screen names. They all say they ride a ton or what not, but when we put together things like this...we get like 5 or 7 or something. I mean, not that it's a bad number or anything, but it would be nice to get a bigger turn out. Hell my club is a 10th of the size of this forum and we normally get about 10-14 that roll in for bike nights at Bravo every damn week...

Just doesn't quite make sense to me at all. I mean Rezar is trying his a$$ off to set things up all the time and make sure everyone is notified (via post & email) but no one goes with it...like he was saying...is it a status thing? or what?

I have a question...if all those people showed interest...WHY did they back out of the ride then? There has to be a reason...what is it? If it's a problem with the location or something, why don't they post up and say what's on their mind? Do they not like someone else that's going on the ride or something and backed out or what?

Sorry, not trying to flame anyone (if anything, giving props to Rezar for his hard work), just trying to understand why a forum as big as this, especially in Southern California, (where you can ride all the time...well, unless it's raining like today!!!! :finger <<<----Weather) doesn't get together and do more things together or what not.

Anyway...I guess that's my $0.03 (ya, thought I'd throw in that extra penny). Hehehehe..

Well put, R1-Demon, and now I feel kinda bad for suggesting a ride thats's too far for so many. That said though, why couldn't everbody just post here with alternate suggestions? I know a few of us did, and that's most appreciated, but WTH?

So here's my suggestion. If 7 or fewer people are showing up, than it'd just be a ride, not a meeting. Let's pass on this one, and start PLANNING something in early-mid July. That should give everbody achance to chime in with suggestions, and once we have enough, I'll post a poll for final voting. I wanna get this thing rolling ASAP, but having only a few of us this weekend meeting and getting their shirts, etc. just seems to distance the few from the many... I've organized groups before, and that's like rule #1 for what not to do.

So what's everybody think? Those of you with e-mail adresses for squadron members, get everybody in the local area to make suggestions, and we'll vote on 'em.
