EDIT: Opps, think this doesnt work on 2020 and up.. Basically you press the mode button and the up button (right above the mode button) and turn key on and do it two more times to get to diagnostic mode. Then press up or down to get to 62, then on the right handle bar press on/off switch to on, then to off. That procedure works on my 2016 R1M.

I appreciate it. Unfortunately no diagnostic mode on the 2020-2024 R1’s. We have to use an OBD2 six pin cable and reset with a scanner. I’ve heard you can run for several miles and run two on/off cycles but sometimes it really does require a scanner reset.

 

This will work, I have this for my 22. It's not bad to have and fairly cheap.

I appretiate it. I have a scanner and I ordered the cable. It’s on the way. I was able to reset but running the bike a few miles and a couple on off key cycles. That took care of the post ECU flash check engine light. I’ll hold on to the scanner though because I’m sure it’ll come in handy in the future.

 

Yes it does work, however your modes switch won't work until it goes off.

 

2020 here. Reset my code today doing the up and mode switch thing. worked after about five cycles on and off with the key. thanks.

2020 R1 in my garage. Ride it around the block and try the up and mode button trick. Reset my check engine light. Now that you’re flashed, it may cause an issue. Let us know.

 

When riding the bike for a few miles bd turning the key ignition on and off it removes the check engine light from the dash. But you still need the OBD scanner to totally delete the codes.
