does anyone out there ride with there highbeams on all the time? Specifically during the day? Is it illegal to do this as i know some cars if they are stolen will have their highbeams on which helps cops to identify stolen vehicles. Does the R1 do this?

Was thinking of this as assurance that cagers will definately see me?

Ride with them during the day but not at night. Hell they are really bright don't want to blind people cause I myself don't like some dumbass blinding me with thier highbeams.

I personally do ride all during the daylight hours with my highbeams on....ANYTHING can help for those fucking cages to see me...

At night my low-beams get flashes from oncomers...the 2002 has very bright lights...

As to the legality of it....most new cars when you turn them on the highbeam headlights come on even without the lights on ....the whole "Lights on for safety" thing...I doubt there is a legal issue involved as long as if someone flashes you put them to lowbeam.....

i always have em on high during the day......but not at night

as far as being illegal, it could be i guess. i've been pulled over in my truck because my fog lights were aimed up to high, making them distracting to other drivers.......i just think that cop was being a prick.....i guess they can pull you over for anything

I used to ride with my highbeams on during the daytime also. That is until i found that 60 dollars PIAA bulbs have a tendency to greatly shorten the lifespan of the bulb when you do this.:fact Now i just use lowbeam left and right unless the sun is working against me (aka sun glare) then i flick them to high.

Super brights day and night

I would rather be an asshole who is seen then one more statistic
for an insurence company.

Just the way I see it.

Low almost all the time.

In the day time if I'm splitting through heavy traffic or congested area, then I'll flick on the high beam. Other than that I'll run them on low beams. If I can see my light's reflection off another vehicle in the daytime, they're okay.

At night, low always. With highbeams on, I don't want to blind oncoming cars to the point where they can't see and go into my lane. The lows are bright enough where I get flashed if not I can see the driver turn down his rear view mirror or turn away from my lights.

PIAA Plasma GT's are the shit!

Highs all the time (day and night) Unless i get flashed at night, then kick to lows...car passes, back to highs

i have halogen lights which are pretty bright, highbeams at night is not only legal, but encouraged.

night should be off just so you dont piss everyone off and blind em. the funny thing is tho, even when my lights are not on highbeam at night, cars be flashing me all the time tellin me to turn off my high beams. but then i just flash back to let them know it IS off...

True, mine burnt out after a couple months of constant high beams. Now its just low beam status.....

I trynot to ride in traffic too much anyways.:)
