Sorry I took down my previous web site and forgot that the pics to this thread was stored there. Check page 3 of this thread and you can download 4 zipped folders that have the numbered pictures.

Here is the step by step installation of a Scoprio SR-i500 on a 04 R1 including the parameter sensor and anti hijack device.

GETTING STARTED

Remove the passanger seat and find the wires just behind the tool kit. Release the plastic tie to access these wires.

Pic1

Use the optional OEM harness (Yam-6 or Yam-1 will work on the 04). The black wire with the double male ends attach to the black wire by the tail light.

Pic 2

The Orange wire with the double male ends from the OEM harness attaches to the Blue wire going to the tail light.

This is what it should look like:

Now look for the two oblong connectors in front of the tail light(yes it is a tight squeeze to get your fingers back there). Disconnect the one with the brown wire and pull one end out. Carefully attach the female T-tap connector(supplied with the OEM harness) to the brown wire.

pic 5

Connect one (any one) of the grey wires from the OEM harness.

pic 6

Now connect the oblong connector back to its mate. Pull out and disconnect the other oblong connector with the green wire, and do the same with the remaining Grey wire from the OEM harness.

Connect this oblong connector back to its mate, and this is what you should now have:

pic 8

Use some electrical tape to wrap the wires from the OEM harness into a single unit:

INSTALL THE ANTIHIJACK

Now, pull off the rider's seat. Just a bit forward of the passinger seat lock is the tip over sensor:

pic 10

Unplug the tip over sensor and carefully cut the electrical tape that is wrapped around the 3 wires on this plug. You want to use the top wire which is blue with brown rings. Leaving enough room to strip the ends, cut this wire an inch or so from the connector.

pic 11

Using the supplied crimp type splice connectors, connect the 2 black wires from the anti hijack modle to the 2 ends of the blue wire you just cut and stripped (use the proper tool here for best results).

Mount the anti hijack module with the supplied velcro.

THE PARAMETER SENSOR AND FINAL CONNECTIONS

Connect the OEM harness to the connector on Harn-1. Connect the Harn-1 and Accessory harnesses to the main unit and feed the Black wire with the fuse and accessory harness to the rider seat area. Connect the black wire with the fuse to the positive battery terminal (the unit will give a chirp to let you know its got juice). Tighten the battery terminal nice and snug.

pic 14

Connect the parameter sensor to the accessory harness, and secure the sensor with the supplied velcro.

pic 15

Secure the main alarm unit with the supplied velcro and neatly feed the antenna wire around the back of the rear sub-frame(or any where you please). Secure all loose wires with the supplied wire ties, and make sure that the passanger seat locking mechanism is not rubbing against any of the harnesses coming out of the main alarm unit.

pic 16

Put the battery in the remote pager, and peel off the protective film over the display. Hit arm and I wish you best of luck programming the damn thing. Hint: you have to be quick at the sequence of buttons you push at some points, while at other points, you have to wait for the alarm to chirp before you can push other buttons to change settings. Make sure you push button 4 to save each new change.

I hope this helps, sorry for the confusion over the pictures. Send me a PM if you are having problems or want to ask a queston.

Great write up thanks for the effort! After install, my signals aren't flashing. I replaced my fender with a Graves unit, so I had left over wires. Any thoughts?

Don't make a mistake like me and put your bike key on the remote. After riding for two hours the face of the remote was scratched all up and it scratched my triple tree up. I was mad hell at myself. And I did not notice until the next day because it was night time. Now I'm waiting for LP to come out with a carbon cover for my triple tree. From then on I just keep it in my pocket with my disc lock key on it.

Yikes. I envisioned that the remote would scratch the triple tree and have the remote cliped to a belt loop or in a jacket pocket for that reason.

Dr. R1. Check to make sure the grey wires are connected tightly. Those little reddish connectors that tap into the green and blue wires must be really forced together tightly. Also make sure that the female connectors(same wires) tapped into the green and blue wires and did not simply push them to the side when you installed that connector. An Ohm meter should confirm or deny this connection.

my alarm does not fit where you guys are putting it above the tool pouch. The seat will not fasten. any ideas? I took the tool kit out and put it side ways with my pc3usb underneath it.

Not as much range as I hoped. My office is 1 floor down in a concrete building and I have to place the remote near the door to receive a signal from the alarm. A bit of a pain, but the alarm does seem to take care of the bike well enough without my help:) Overall I like this alarm, but many comprimises have been made(IMHO) to keep from draining the battery. Volume of the alarm and pager range are a couple of them. Would I buy this system again: Yes, well designed in my opinion, but you can't have it all.

I didn't use the yamaha specific connector for the lights. I just used the supplied harness with the "T" connectors. I attached the orange to the blue wire on the brake light, and the black to the black on the brake light, but I don't seem to be getting any blinking on the brake light when I arm, or disarm it. It's petty, but I was just cruious if that's how it's supposed to go without the yamaha specifi harness...

I like the alarm. I've got the ignition disable, and the perimeter sensor, and things are pretty good.

A question about the antenna: Where are you guys running it? Any suggestions on where to string this thing for best reception?

Thanks in advance!

The alarm will not setup if you leave the key in the ignition. I was pulling my hair trying to initialize-pulled the key out to call it a night - all good...

Normal range 100-300 yards [your mileage may vary] not like advertised-but acceptable. Kimber .45 good enough for that first 100 yards.

Brake lights are not suppose to flash when arming or disarming. Only the turn signals.
