Spies is looking great!

Btw, for reference: My best lap on my 600 (slip-on and PCIII) on Pilot Powers is 2.00 dead. These guys are nearly 20 freaking seconds faster!! :drunk: HOW do you go that fast?! :dunno

You guys from over the pond or in Europe MUST watch Kyalami in April/May next year... it's such an incredible track! :rock

I found this statement from Spies funny.....

Spies dismissed any praise over his impressive performance today. "I'm just going out there and doing my thing, doing what I do. The field is very deep here, there are a few guys that could win an AMA Superbike race for sure. I'm glad we're where we are at, but I'm not thinking about it too much. I've got a lot of work to do."

I would guess there would be more then a few guys that could win in the AMA

Holy crap I just met Nitro Nori!! And Ben Spies said Hi to me! Man, I sound like a groupie, but it's soooooo cool! Short story: I borrowed a press-pass from a friend for 20 mins and went on a rampage in the pits. Will upload photos as soon as work allows! But don't be too keen... the Yamaha pits were sealed up like a dolphins butt and no-one was on track for the whole time I was there. Now I'm back at work... :( But I got some great photos of other bikes... coming soon...

And some more... check out Andrew Pitts crashed 600RR, complete with twisted subframe! He crashed at Wesbank corner btw, for those that know the course.

And check out the diameter of the F09's exhaust!! That must be over 70mm!!! :rock

And last, me and Nori!

Hope you enjoyed the pics!

My brother is still there with the video camera and I have him strict instructions to get 09 R1 and RSV4 footage... I already shot some of Xaus on the BMW. So I'll post that as soon as I have it edited! Probably only on the weekend.

1) I cant beleive Spies is that fast.. that fast!! lol

2) My best lap ever at VIR in the U.S. was a 1:42.. at the time Mladin held the record at 1:24.. making him about 18 seconds a lap faster than my best RACE time. And I dont consider myself a slow guy at all. At that time, I was riding pretty decent.. placing in about the top 1/3 of the Amatuer 1000cc races. In that particular VIR race, the amatuer race winner that day was only turning a 1:38 (4 seconds faster than me).

So I would imagine its safe to say.. most Pro riders are a good 20-30 seconds faster than us "regular" guys on a Professional Racetrack. And by regular Im saying those of us who either trackday guys or amatuer club racing guys.

Really puts things into context when you have people who read a magazine and then decide to buying a specific bike based on a professional rider's critique of the bike. I guess they somehow beleive that the technology/power of that bike is what they need to become a better/faster rider. When they have no idea how much faster these Pros are than us. They truly do ride on a level we could only attempt to dream of.

GOD I just saw your pictures man. Im jealous as hell!!

You pretty much lived my dream.. with the exception Id be in the jail right now. I couldnt be that close to a circuit and WSBK. Without stealing one and taking it out for a couple of laps.. lol
