so im out riding my 02 r1 today and I pull up to a stop and a guy(around 25) on a brand new harley pulls up next to me, the light is taking forever... the guy on the harley revs his engine and then points at me and says, "How big is the motor on your rice bike?" I laugh a little and say, "Its a 1000." he revs his engine again and pats his tank and says, "Must be slow as hell... 1200!" again he revs it again twice...

the light turns green and he takes off like a bat out of hell. I think oh what the hell... I take off and blow him away, then I slow down and he rolls past me and flips me off... I just laughed and went back to riding

Hopefully those two "friends" of yours are no longer friends and remember they are just as much as at fault as she is. Sorry to hear that bro.

To the OP, glad you dusted the harley lol

Harly what?

I had a similar experience. I am at a stop light and a huge 'hog' pulled up next to me. Dude looked like he was middle age. I was in the middle of the lane so he says out loud to "move the fook over". Huh? :dundun: What? :dundun: Light turns green and he rips out of there like he stole it with a leg out almost kicking my ride. I could not hold myself and of course cought up ran away from him, but still, WTF! what did I do to you? :dunno Thank god I did not have the same girlfriend experience, mine has been really good so far. LOL

LMAO I love stories like that. I had a similar thing happen to me. Had a HD guy snear at me at a light and take off. He blasts all the way to 4th gear, well I pull up along side of him, i'm still in 1st, we are going about 60, and I just hit it and click into second. We get to the light, and i'm LMAO and say, "I passed you in 1st gear!" He tells me to F.O and turns right.

Anyone else ever notice how the ones that start the crap ALWAYS seem to get bold and immediately take off afterwards, typically the novice HD boys. I've had the true hardcore HD guys more often than not treat me with some form of respect.

HD's are perfect for those with a beer gut that wouldnt fit over the R1's tank.

Do you know the difference between a Harley and a vacuum?

You can fit 2 dirt bags on a Harley.

JK, I know many good people that ride HD's. I just make sure I ride in front so I dont hit the parts that keep falling off.

I remember riding from Kentucky to Oregon on my 01-R1 a few years ago and i was going through the buckeye state, i was rolling along at 75mph kicked back, then from a onramp 2 H-D's with ape-hanger bars with 2 cool duds came on to the freeway just behind me, both with bandana's-chaps-tee shirts and with no helmets just sungalsses on, they followed me for a few miles until i got tired of hearing there straight pipes howing in my ears so i wick it up to 85mph and looked in my mirrors and sure enough they sped up to match me so being the fun loving guy i'am i kicked it up to 95mph checked mirrors again there they were again ! so time to go ballistic ! set cruise at 105mph looked back both still there hanging on for dear life to there H-D's (haha)1 dud's bandana around his neck chocking the hell out of him and the other i could see tears running out from his sunglasses so i jacked it up to 135mph and looked back and watched them fade in to the horizon behind me (and me with a big smile under my helmet) i love when there going to show me how big and bad the H-D is !!!

well as an owner of both (06 R1 and 04 Fatboy) I definitely have respect for either bike... Each one definitely has it's place that it shines, but I know that those 1450cc's have no business trying to outrun shit! Although on my 40 minute straightline commute at 5am, that HD is nice!

for the most part, other bikers are pretty respectful but I did have a kid effin with me a stoplight the other day when I was on the fatboy coming home from work. He pulled up, rev'd his little gixxer 6 up and took off hard. At the next light I just told him if he really wanted to play to follow me to a spot I knew. He was behind me as I pulled into the driveway, and when the garage door opened up, he spotted the R1. Before I could even get off the HD, he was gone!!

Why sweat it..? "harley stories, sportbike assholes, etc".

**** it, just ride your ride, sportbike, cruiser, motard, who gives a crap. Someone wants to mess with you on the road, either speed up or stop and let them pass. You will always have people that think what they have is better than someone elses, just don't be that guy.

Some good stories here!

I bet the same type of HD guy that doesn't give a sportbike any respect because of the smaller engine, is the same guy who thinks that his Ford F150 is the fastest shit on the planet and he just bought his first HD.

it's even better when you smoke some big bad harley dude on a "little 600". even my cbr600 walked all over a few smart ass hogs before that had "twice the motor you got, hehe". i usually don't get any shit from anybody when i'm out on the R1 now. :flex:

I've had over all good experiences with with people on cruisers and such. In fact I don't think I've ever had any of them be a dick to me.

If you want to piss them off... ask them how they like those Honda electronics on their bike..

And to the guy whos ole lady cheated on him with 2 friends...... I'd just go **** my friends g/f's/mom/sister... and then **** my g/f's mom/sister/cousin/grand mother... w/e :flex:

Oh yeah.. Take pictures of you giving which ever one a pearl necklace or what not and send it to them on their b-day or for christmas or whatever :finger

wow you guys are full of revenge.....i just get a new girl obviously if she cheats then its not a girl you want anyway......nothing pisses them off more then when you stop caring......

the best is when you run into them later with a hotter better girl

there are some 3 billion women out there so why get stuck on one

anyways back to harley talk

i ride with this older guy that just turned 60 and he is a die hard harley fan and wont ride anything else......understandable he has riden harleys since he was 18

but he respects my riding and my bike.......he has some custom harley with a 2300cc supercharged motor in it and it hauls balls.......like significantly faster in a straight then my r1

but i kill him in the corners.....although he is faster then any other cruiser rider then i have seen

i hate when they dont wave back.....i respect them if they respect me

my only bad experience with them is when a group of us passed them on this wide open road and they were doing 5 under......we stopped to get some food at a grill and they came up pissed as hell

they told us we give motorcyclists a bad name......and i walked up to their table and told them we get a bad name cuz they drink and ride.....which they were doing and they told us if we had real skills we could ride even drunk.......we shook our heads and walked out

some good guys some bad just like any group of riders

To the dude who got cheated on: It's alright, I've cheated, I've been cheated on and it's all good. Better you find out now, then when they give you the clap! Your best revenge isn't to hurt or hate, it's to rise above and show her that you're a man that will go on to "do" better things!

As far as the HD-rice wars go, I remember my favorite saying involving hardleys.

"A Harley is the most expensive and least efficient means to turn gasoline into noise without the byproduct of horsepower or speed"

Keeps me sane as I watch those supposed bad ass RUB's tool about on their overstuffed recliners on two wheels and no clue how to ride.

To the real Harley guys, and I know quite a few, props for sticking with your principles and knowing why you ride the way you do.

You guys with the HD stories are really warming my heart - there's nothing I love better than dusting a Harley!!!

#55 ·
I chillax

I dunno, I figure all bikers on 2 wheels should be friendly to each other. There aren't enough bikers around as is without internal bullshit between us. That being said I don't personally race or penis wave on the streets it's pointless and it's hurt alot of my friends.
:crash

im always paying attention to not getting mowed over by soccer mom talking on the phone while she's eating a double cheeseburger to wave at people. by the time i realize someone is waving, its usually too late and they prolly wont see me. then i feel kinda bad. haha oh well
