On April Fools I got a call from the dealer. They told me they got their first 2015 R1 out on the showroom floor. After the trouble I had with my last bike, the Ducati 1199 I was ready to abandon Europe (for now) and jump back on something from the land of the rising sun.

First came the Raven... Result: Stolen

Then came the Team Blue & matte grey... Result: head on collision with a Suburban SUV

And finally the 60th Anniversary edition... Result: WTF could possibly happen next.

Of the 3 color schemes I gotta say the Yellow of the 60th is extremely eye popping:icon_eek: I love everything except that eye sore number plate decal on the nose fairing.

I've never had such dumb luck with a particular bike, but these New R1's are worth the trouble.

I briefly flirted with the idea of getting another Ducati, but I think the R1 is the best all around bike on the market right now. Yeah the BMW has a few more ponies, but it's ugly and still uses halogen headlights lol. The 1299 is bananas to ride, but who wants to be at the service dept every other week. I'm happy with the R1 at the moment.

Seriously, thats some crazy luck.....I kinda like it without the number plate though, and especially with the seat cowl on it

I love my 60th also. Those colors give me great memories of my 1st Yamaha yz which was the stock colors back in the day !! I bought the 50 th anniversary Raptor 700r in 06 when it came out n missed out on the R1 that year but still had my 02 blue R1 which I love. But when I saw the 16 was going to be another anniversary edition I was going to miss out again !!!! Especially with all the changes !!! I love this bike !!!!
