What brands are good or is oem the only way to go? Reason I ask I've called around and they are saying it's back ordered till end of Sept.

Ricks Motorsport stators are the only replaments I use! They use a little larger windings and they don't put a ton of epoxy on them! The epoxy holds the heat in and causes them to fail early! The larger winding help with longevity also!
If you need a replacement plug you will have to get on eBay tho cause ricks stators don't come with the plug, if you need a link to the plug hit me up

I got a Ricks Motorsport stator for my '02 back around April this year, ordered directly from Ricks, and it had plug on it. Dunno if it was a fluke, just sayin. I got cheapos off Ebay last year when I first and 2nd time changed my stator; this (3rd) time I had experience and research and paid the money for what the guys here recommended and I got stator straight from Ricks to be sure.

I'd also suggest getting a a genuine Shindengen FH020AA r/r, if you're going to replace the one on the bike. Some suggest replacing the r/r and stator together. The FH020AA is a mosfet type that is a direct replacement and upgrade for the original stock r/r and should last longer.

I think it cost me total around $270 for both stator and r/r.

What year bike is this on?? Not sure what you mean by flywheel holder??also wondering which year that it is on back order like that. I've heard all good about ricks so would definitely go with him.
