Hi guys I have a question I recently purchased extensions for my 03 R1 but I'm not sure if I should lower it or leave stock height I'm not racing just like the look of it. Do it needs to be lowered since it's going to be stretch or I can leave it stock height

I would just lower it enough to where it feels like stock height. You should be able to find adjustable dog bones online fairly cheap. You may get a lot of crap on here for stretching your bike, but it's your bike, have fun with it.

That said I would never in a million years stretch my bike lol. :wink2:

That is a SIN?

Like I said then bro, if your doing a show bike and don't really care if it effects the handling go for it. I certainly respect a nice looking stretched and lowered show bike but I wouldn't do extensions. If your going to to a high class show bike extensions make it look cheap and jimmy rigged. Go custom swingarm or don't go at all.

my bike is stretched and just a bit lowered not to much. i know everyone will disagree with me. but i can get into turns and corners just as good as any stock bike. but then again ive been riding for along time. i built my bike for drag racing and still be able to ride on the street. its your bike so do whatever you want to it. i actually love the look of a slammed stretched bike. its all on preference. good luck

My turbo R1 runs on 14" of stretch. I still take corners at 120. The problem with stretches is the turn ratio is much wider, so you can't really drag a knee on a sharp s curve or the like. If you're just freeway and street riding there is nothing that should deter you from stretching the bike unless you're one of those dumbasses that drag knee getting onto freeways and whatnot. In that case, RIP sir. And FWIW, stretching and lowering makes it take waaaay less effort to swing the bike from side to side.

So you don't know? I mean I just build and tune motorcycle suspensions and motors all day, literally, for a living. Not like I ride the only 300+ hp crossplane R1 in the world. Must be such a squid.

You wanna drag a knee to change to another freeway, be my guest. Oh wait, but the guy in front of you just decided to throw a stick out the window and it's directly in your path, along with the stream of gravel coming off that 18 wheeler up there! $1000 says my chances of dodging that shit, not riding like I'm trying to be my favorite MotoGP racer, are better than yours.

You must ride level 1, :gayfight2:.

ok let me troll a bit..... so far you just purchased cheap extentions and don't even know if it needs to be lowered or not

like I said..... just when you think someone cant get any worse.
lets face it..... your a muppet but its great entertainment for the rest of us.
