What is the Best RoadRacing Game? Does it have the newest bikes or racers? How about an R1 or M1?

Name the platforms (e.g. PS2, X-Box, PC) and why you think it is the best game and if you've played the others.

I just ordered the Moto GP3 for PS2.

From what little reviews I could find it seems the best game available, but it is old (released May, 2003).

This is a new post because I would like the newest, bestest, game with the latest bikes and riders.

Does anyone know if there is a Moto GP4 in the works?

Thanks for your feedback:thumbup

MotoGP 2 man :riding ! motoGP 3 is some crappy ripoff by some crappy company!

Hey, this was news to me :dunno so I did a google search and found all reviews for GP3 said it was a continuation of the GP series from Namco. A lot of times the actual software writers are a smaller company, that is published / distributed by bigger companies so I figured maybe you were right, that another company took over the "Title" and made a poorer version.

So I read more reviews and found that GP2 can play up to 16 players online at once :thumbup but the GP3 has added 5 new circuits in 5 new countries, has both individual front and rear brake control, and has a weight shift option for even more control.
The GP3, however  , it has no online option and can only play 4 players at once.

Here is a full review: http://www.ps2home.co.uk/moto_gp3.htm

So both games sound good and designed for DIFFERENT platforms, with the GP2 available for Xbox and PCs and GP3 designed for the PS2. If you want to play online with up to 16 players the GP2 is the way to go. If you want a couple of extra bells and whistles and you have a PS2 than the GP3 is another option, but only plays up to 4 people via multitap.

Still would like to know when and if the GP4 will become available since the GP3 was released in May, 2003.

Thanks for the feedback,

By far the best motorcycle sim is GP500 for PC.
It came out when GP was 2 stroke so thats
what the game is out of the box but...
there is a web site dedicated to this game

http://www.gp500store.co.uk/

They have up to date MotoGP 4 stroke bikesets that you
can load onto your PC, so essentially you will have
a MotoGP game instead of GP500.

Not only are the graphics spot on :rock but they have
also modded the physics(very good) as well as the sound.

I would highly recommend anyone who loves motorcycle
sims to get this game and install the mods.
There are quit a few things you will have to install to get
the game up to MotoGP but if your computer savey you
shouldn't have any problem.

If you need any help let me know!

Happy racing :riding

Sorry dude, but it is delayed again. Looking for first qtr 2005. (Jan-Mar)
A game called Riding Spirits for PS2 has tons of real bikes, street and race, but the game isn't really that great. You should rent it to see.

I'm waiting for "Isle of Man TT Superbikes" to come out on PS2. It's due out in Feb, but I think you have to order it from England, which is what I plan on doing.

shawnj,

I sent you a pm. After Prowler's endorsement I'm in!

I just got another computer for web stuff and doing videos and it has the goods to do some major gaming. I'm not a gamer but I do love anything to do with roadracing.

I'm signing up for some coaxle cable internet (R1 Speed) tommorrow (oops today) so I'll be doing the gp500 purchase, install, upgrades, mods, etc. in December.

I'll contact you then to get advise on setting things up smoothley.

Thanks!

The motoGP3 will still be fun on the PS2 and it has an "Arcade Mode" for my kids to get started on.

Have a good weekend guys!

I'd heard about this too, but from my understanding PS2 consoles are set up by region and a game from the UK won't play on a PS2 console from the U.S. Anyone know if thats true?

The region coding is TRUE

Options are to either do a mod chip, which is available online but is either semi-illegal or semi-"Sony HATES you", not sure which. The other option is to by a console from the UK or wherever you get the software from.

I wanted a Kengo II (newer version of Kengo) sword fighting game and it was available everywhere except the states.

I was S.O.L.

I even had a cousing in Japan confirm this with Sony in Japan. Sony is a Control Freak company.

MotoGP2....xbox
:iamwithst

That's the most realistic that I've played. The SBK series for the PC are pretty good too!

Here's the thing tho...........
The PC version of MGP2 has all of the options that the xbox has, including online play, for free.....
It also has added features, like front and rear seperate braking, as well as many others.
Anything you can do in the Xbox version, you can do in the PC version, and more......

and you can either play online on gamespy, for free, or you can simply host a game and have people connect directly to your IP address.

Do that on your Xbox...........
